Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini vs Oppo N1 Mini – Which One Turns To Be The Best?

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini was launched this year in July, while the OppoN1 Mini has currently been released in China. Furthermore, the Oppo smartphone will make the debut in other sides of the world very soon. For those who are interested in these two handsets here it is a comparison about specifications and features.

Exterior comparison

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini comes with 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display having a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. On the other hand, the Oppo smartphone features a bigger display 5 inch IPS LCD with the similar resolution as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. Plus, the pixel densities stand at 326 ppi for Samsung and 294 ppi for Oppo device.

The new Galaxy S5 Mini features the same perforated plastic back exterior as the Galaxy S5. In addition, the device has a shiny, fake metal band surrounding the corners of the smartphone. This mini version actually looks very similar to the Galaxy S5. However, there are not details available for the exterior of the Oppo N1 Mini, at this moment.

The upcoming Oppo N1 Mini will be 0.36 inch thick and it will weigh 150 g., while the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has a thickness of 0.36 inch and 120 g. weight.

Memory comparison

The next Oppo Mini will house a quad-core QUALCOMM Snapdragon 400 CortexA7 processor, at 1.6 GHz. Whereas the Galaxy S5 Mini is powered by a processor quad-core Exynos 3 CortexA7, clocked at 1.4 GHz. The Galaxy S5 Mini provides only 1.5 GB of RAM, and the Oppo N1 Mini will offer 2 GB of RAM.

Moreover, the Samsung S5 Mini works on Android v4.4.2 KitKat Operating System with Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI. On the other hand, the mini version from Oppo runs on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean with Color OS UI. In addition, both the devices provide 16 GB internal memory storage. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini supports micro SD card expandable up to 64 GB, while the Oppo N1 Mini does not.

Battery and camera

The Samsung smartphone comes packed with a great Li-Ion 2100 mAhbattery unit, which can be replaced by users, whereas the mini device from Oppo houses a Li-Ion 2140 mAh battery, user replaceable.

When it comes to the camera, The Galaxy S5 Mini provides an 8 MP back facing camera unit with LED-flash and a secondary shooter of 2.1 MP. The Oppo N1 Mini offers an outstanding 13 MP primary-cam unit with LED-flash, which can be turned back and forth. With this amazing feature, even the front facing shooter can take photos with the same 13 MP.

Other features

Both devices support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, LTE and micro USB ports. While the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini supports Infrared port and NFC, the Oppo smartphone does not.

Plus, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini comes in a variety of colors, including white, black, gold and blue, while The Oppo N1 Mini device will appear only in white.

The Samsung mini version provides a fingerprint scanner and the Oppo N1 Mini does not.Furthermore, the Galaxy S5 mini houses a heart-rate monitor, whereas the Oppo device doesn’t.Also, the Galaxy S5 Mini is waterproof and dustproof P67 certified, while the Oppo N1 Mini is not.
