Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition vs Sony Xperia C – Best Specs, Features and Price Comparison

This is what Samsung did: after releasing the high end flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S4 (which caused a lot of hype), they also released cheaper versions of this handset for users which are looking for a more affordable device. Today we are comparing Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Value Edition with another middle level phone: the Sony Xperia C. Let’s see which one would be the best buy.

Design

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Value Edition is as well lighter (weight: 130 grams) and thinner (dimensions: 5.38 x 2.75 x 0.31 in) than the Sony Xperia C. Sony’s device has a candy bar like design which explains its dimensions: 5.57 x 2.92 x 0.35 in and the weight of 153 grams.

Display

The Sony Xperia C is equipped with a 5 inches display which can render a screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The pixel density of this handset is of 220 pixels per inch.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition also comes with a 5 inches display but this one can render a superior screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The pixel density is double what the Xperia C offers: 441 pixels per inch – which means that the Samsung can offer way better graphics.

Camera

Regarding the primary camera, we can see that the Sony Xperia C comes with an 8 MP camera, while the Samsung showcases a 13 MP model. As for the secondary camera, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition shows off a better 2 MP camera – compared to the Sony Xperia C’s VGA model of camera.

Performance and Operating System

Sony equipped the Xperia C with a quad core processor working at 1.2 GHz which is paired up with a Mediatek chipset. The processor is backed up by 1 GB of RAM, and the device runs on Android Jelly Bean.

Samsung equipped its own handset with a quad core processor working at 1.9 GHz which is paired up with a Qualcomm chipset. The processor is backed up by 2 GB of RAM, and the device runs on a newer version of Android: KitKat.

Battery

The Samsung smartphone has a better battery unit as well, with a capacity of 2600 mAh. The Sony device doesn’t have a useless battery: the battery unit actually has a satisfying capacity of 2390 mAh.
