The Korean giant has done it again.
The release of the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo is over. Released in the month of April 2014, the GS3 Neo would be available in the world market soon. In terms of design and features, the GS3 Neo is expected to be similar to the Galaxy S3 smartphone. However, with the reputation Samsung has in the smartphone arena, the GS3 Neo is most likely to come equipped with an array of enhancements in terms of processor design, and features.
Let us put together two of Samsung Electronics updated smartphones against each other – GS3 Neo and GS4 Zoom. The GS4 Zoom is considered to be a camera with smartphone features, instead of smartphone equipped with an impressive camera. The GS4 Zoom incorporates an impressive 16MP sensor coupled with a massive 10x optical zoom feature. Regardless, it is yet to be determined whether the Korean giant emerged successful in its effort to release a camera phone or is it the other way around. That would be a good argument as well. However, let us compare GS3 Neo and GS4 Zoom as of now, in terms of features and specs.
Design
In terms of design, the GS3 Neo is rumored to come in similar design to that of the Galaxy S3 smartphone. Regardless, the company has made certain enhancements to the handset. The foremost being the introduction of a second SIM slot in the GS3 Neo smartphone. The GS3 Neo is a dual SIM smartphone.
On the other hand, the GS4 Zoom is similar in design to that of the S4 Mini, in the front. The rear of the smartphone comprises of a compressed digital camera with 10x optical zoom feature. Considering the design, not much could be said for the GS4 Zoom smartphone. The handset comes at a thickness of 15.4mm, mainly due to the projecting camera lens affixed at the back of the handset. Holding the GS4 Zoom, while operating it with a single hand, may be a problem due to its protruding lens.
Dimensions and Display
The GS3 Neo stands 136.6mm in stature, 70.8mm in breadth and 8.6mm in terms of thickness. The GS3 Neo is expected to come equipped with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, having a resolution of 720×1280 pixels.
Comparing to GS3 Neo, the GS4 Zoom stands 125.5mm in stature, 63.5mm in breadth and 15.4mm in terms of thickness, primarily because of the protruding camera at the back. The GS4 Zoom incorporates a 4.3-inch AMOLED display, having a resolution of 540×960 pixels.
Hardware and OS
In terms of hardware, the GS3 Neo is expected to derive power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core Cortex A7 processor, running at a speed of 1.2MHz. The processor is expected to be coupled with Adreno 305 graphic processor. In comparison, the GS4 Zoom derives power from its dual core Exynos 4212 processor, running at a speed of 1.5GHz, along with a Mali 400 graphic processor.
The GS3 Neo is believed to come equipped with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. Whereas, the GS4 Zoom comprises of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
The GS3 Neo is expected to offer a RAM of 1.5GB, similar to its counterpart, the GS4 Zoom that comes with internal storage capacity of 8GB. The GS3 Neo offers an internal memory of 16GB.
