The Galaxy Note 3 faces two opponents from Huawei, the Ascend P6 and the Ascend Mate models – the second one is huge, so probably the ladies won’t consider it their first option when buying a new phone. But the Huawei devices are much cheaper than the Samsung phablet and their designs aren’t bad either.
Displays and sizes
In terms of screen sizes, the Ascend P6 is the smallest one, with a 4.7inches IPS+ LCD display that supports a resolution of 720x1280pixels and 312ppi. The other Huawei device is extremely massive, having an IPS+ LCD display with the size of 6.1inches, but which renders the same resolution. Only the pixel density is smaller, 241ppi. The Note 3 has a Super AMOLED display which measures 5.7inches and it’s also a phablet, but the the resolution is higher – 1080x1920pixels and the pixel density stands at 386ppi.

Hardware and OS
The Note 3 is extremely powerful, having under its hood a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset supporting a quad core 2.3GHz Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. This amazing phablet has 3GB of RAM and comes loaded with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS, but it received the 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for a better user experience. The Ascend P6 and the Ascend Mate both have a quad core 1.5GHz Hisilicon K3V2 CPU from Huawei and have 2GB of RAM. The first model has 8 and 16GB of internal storage, and the single SIM version allows expansion up to 32GB. The Ascend Mate has an internal memory of 8GB, but if you add a microSD card, you get up to 64GB. The Android version of OS for the Ascend P7 is 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), but it’s planned to receive the 4.4 (KitKat) version. As for the Ascend Mate, the phablet comes preloaded with a much older version, 4.1 (Jelly Bean), which is upgradable only to v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
