Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo vs HTC One Max vs Xperia T2 Ultra – Best Specs and Price Comparison

Today we thought we would compare three of the largest smartphones on the market, those who have tablet-like sizes, to see what specs they hold and if they are really worth the buy. We’re talking about Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Neo, HTC’s One Max and Sony’s Xperia T2 Ultra. Let’s take a closer look at what each has to offer.

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

The Xperia T2 Ultra weighs 6.07 oz and comes with the following dimensions: 6.50 x 3.30 x 0.30 inches. The display seen on this handset is an IPS LCD model measuring 6.0 inches which comes with light and proximity sensors, as well as multi touch capabilities. The screen resolution rendered on this display is of 720 x 1280 pixels, while the pixel ratio sits at 245 pixels per inch. The primary camera has 13 MP and multiple features like: geo tagging, self timer, autofocus, face detection, high dynamic range mode, LED flash, smile detection, digital zoom, scenes and burst mode. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo

This device is thicker than the Sony (dimensions: 5.84 x 3.05 x 0.34 inches), but is actually lighter, weighing 5.73 oz. The display seen on this handset measures 5.5 inches and it is a Super AMOLED model. You get the light and proximity sensors, as well as the multi touch capabilities. The screen resolution rendered on this device is of 720 x 1280 pixels, while the pixel density is superior at 267 pixels per inch. The operating system this handset runs on is Android 4.3 with the TouchWiz user interface.

The primary camera has only 8 MP, but it comes with some great features: high dynamic range mode, back illuminated sensor, face detection, voice activation, smile detection, panorama, LED flash and autofocus. The camera can shoot videos at a quality of 1920 x 1080 pixels @30fps. The secondary camera has 2 MP.

HTC One Max

The HTC One Max is both thicker (dimensions: 6.48 x 3.25 x 0.41 inches) and heavier (weight: 7.65 oz) than both already talked about handsets, and this is mainly because of its aluminum body. The display is a S-LCD 3 model measuring 5.9 inches which comes with light and proximity sensors, as well as multi touch capabilities. The screen resolution rendered on this device is of 1080 x 1920 pixels and it comes with the best pixel density at 373 pixels per inch. As for operating system, the handset comes bundled with Android 4.3 + Sense 5.5 user interface, but it can be upgraded to Android 4.4 and Android 4.4.2.

The primary camera lets us down with only 4 MP, but it does come equipped with quite a few features: white balance, autofocus, digital zoom, high dynamic range mode, geo tagging, back illuminated sensor, panorama and digital image stabilization. The secondary camera, instead, is the best out of the three, at 2.1 MP. When shooting a video, you will be met with a 1920 x 1080 pixels @30fps quality + high dynamic range mode and continuous autofocus.

The processor that powers the HTC One Max is a quad core working at 1.7 GHz which is paired up with the Snapdragon 600 chipset from Qualcomm and Adreno 320 GPU. The device supports 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory (expandable by up to 64 GB via microSD card). The battery unit has a capacity of 3300 mAh which is estimated to last around 28 hours of talking time. The price range is quite large for this handset, starting at $249.00 with contract and $709.00 without a contract.
