Samsung Galaxy Grand S Duos 2 vs Huawei Ascend Y530 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

These mid-budget smartphones have many similar features, but don’t have high expectations from them. They’re mid-budget phones, remember? So, they don’t have amazing cameras or fast processors or long lasting batteries, but for those who are looking for a casual phone, they should take into consideration our suggestions: Galaxy Grand S Duos 2 and Huawei Ascend Y530. But only one of them should be in your pocket, and it’s up to you to decide which one is better.

Displays and sizes

So, the Samsung handset is smaller, having a 4inches TFT screen which supports a resolution of 480x800pixels, a pixel density of 233ppi and it allows multitouch up to 2 fingers. The dimensions of this smartphone are 121.5×63.1×10.6mm and it has a body weight of 118grams. The other phone has a 4.5inches TFT display with a slightly higher resolution – 480x854pixels, but the pixel density is lower – 218ppi. The Ascend Y530 is measuring 132.5x67x9.3mm and it’s 27grams heavier.

Hardware and OS

The Grand S Duos 2 comes with a dual core 1.2GHz Cortex A9 CPU, which is based on a BCM 28145/28155 chipset and which uses a Broadcom VideoCore IV GPU. The device hosts 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 64GB if you add a microSD card. Plus, the phone runs on the Android platform – v4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Huawei Ascend Y530 supports 4G, but it has a small RAM of 512MB. The internal memory is of 4GB – expandable up to 32GB, and the device has a dual core 1.2GHz processor, which teams up with a Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon 200 chipset and an Adreno 302 GPU. The operating system is Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).

Cameras

These smartphones have rear cameras of 5MP (both with 2592х1944pixels, autofocus, LED flash and geo tagging) and VGA cameras on the front. The difference between the phones’ rear cameras is that the Samsung model records videos at 720p@30fps, while the Ascend Y530 has video recoding capabilities at 480p@30fps.

Batteries

Both of the phones have Li-Ion removable batteries. However, the Grand S Duos 2’s battery has a lower capacity – 1500mAhm, whereas the Ascend Y530 comes with a 17000mAh battery. The batteries are both mediocre and you’ll have to charge them almost every day.

Prices

The price of the Grand S Duos 2 dropped down to 142 dollars. The Huawei Ascend Y530 is even cheaper – 139 dollars.
