OnePlus One vs Xiaomi Mi4 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

You know how you always read the same comparisons between the top handsets on the market? Well, today we thought we’d change things up a little and bring you two not-so-well-known devices that deserve your attention completely and that could shame some of the most sold out phones at the moment. We’re talking about the Xiaomi Mi4 which will hit the markets in the third quarter of this year and about the OnePlus One which was already released this June.

Display, Exterior and Size

The OnePlus One comes with a very nice design: a magnesium exterior and a customizable exterior case, meaning that you can choose between Kevlar, denim and bamboo to make the phablet closer to your personal style. The device has a thickness of 0.35 inches and a weight of 162 grams. The display seen on this handset is a LTPS LCD model that measures 5.5 inches (the diagonal of LG G3’s display as well). The screen resolution is of 1080 x 1920 pixels, while the pixel ratio is situated at 401 pixels per inch.

The Xiaomi Mi4 doesn’t have a confirmed design, but we know that Xiaomi is known to always pay close attention to the design and outlook of its devices. The plastic-built Mi3 had a very sophisticated look, so we expect nothing less from the new phone that has yet to hit the markets. Although the Xiaomi Mi4 is as thick as the OnePlus One (0.35 inches), this phablet is actually lighter, weighing only 149 grams. Talking about display, we see that the device comes with an IPS LCD model measuring 5.0 inches, which supports the same screen resolution but a slightly better pixel density of 441 pixels per inch.

Hardware, Software and Memory

The OnePlus One is powered by a Krait 400 processor: quad core working at 2.5 GHz that is paired up with a Snapdragon 801 chipset from Qualcomm. This handset supports 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB/64 GB of internal memory. The operating system for this device is Android 4.4.2 KitKat combined with the CyanogenMod 11S UI.

The Xiaomi Mi4 is actually powered by the same combination of processor and chipset: Krait 400 + Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. The device, much like its counterpart, supports 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB/64 GB of internal storage capacity. The Xiaomi Mi4 runs on Android 4.4.3 KitKat and has the MIUI user interface.

Neither of the two handsets have a microSD card slot, meaning that the internal memory is not expandable.

Camera and Battery

The OnePlus One is equipped with a 13MP primary camera (dual LED flash) and a 5MP secondary camera. The battery unit housed by this device is a non removable Li-Ion with a capacity of 3100 mAh.

The Xiaomi Mi4 also has a 13MP main camera (dual LED flash) but it features an 8MP secondary camera. As for battery, we see a non removable Li-Ion with a capacity of 3080 mAh.

Price

The price difference between the two is not that high, so it is up to you if you want to wait until the Xiaomi Mi4 becomes available (pre-orders already are happening on Oppomart), or you want to buy right now the OnePlus One.

Xiaomi Mi4: expected to be priced at $399.00

OnePlus One: $415.00
