Design and display

The Nokia Lumia 1020 has a very nice design, quite unique we might add, all thanks to the big and round shooter on the back of the device. Nokia gives the user multiple choices when it comes to color: the phone can be purchased in black, white, yellow and red. This handset weighs 158 grams and it sports the following dimensions: 5.13 x 2.81 x 0.41 inches. The display seen on the Lumia 1020 is a 4.5 inches display that can render a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. The pixel density is situated at 332 pixels per inch.

The Nokia Lumia 930 doesn’t look so bad itself: the smartphone has a very nice combination of metal and plastic (+ curved glass) which gives it a very sophisticated feel. This handset is also available in multiple color choices: black, white, green and orange. Even though the Lumia 930 is thinner (dimensions: 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.39 inches), the device is actually heavier (weight: 167 grams) than its predecessor. The display is an AMOLED model that measures 5 inches and that renders a higher resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The pixel ratio is also superior, at 441 pixels per inch.

Hardware and software

The processor that powers the Lumia 1020 is a dual core working at 1.5 GHz that is paired with a Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm. This handset supports 2 GB of RAM. The operating system can be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1.

The processor that powers the Lumia 930 is a more powerful quad core working at 2.2 GHz which is paired with a Snapdragon 800 chipset from Qualcomm. The device also has 2 GB of RAM and runs on WP 8.1

Camera

This is the aspect in which no other Lumia handset can surpass the Lumia 1020. Nokia put a lot of effort in this device’s camera: not only does it give a unique design, but it also allows for some stunning photos & videos (considering the 6x digital zoom). The Lumia 1020 sports a 41MP primary camera, while the Lumia 930 (much like the Lumia 1520) sports a 20MP main camera.

Battery

The more powerful battery is housed by the Lumia 930, with a capacity of 2420 mAh. But actually, the handset is a power drainer and can last only 11 hours and 20 minutes of talking time. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is reported to last up to 13 hours and 20 minutes of talking time.

Price

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, the Nokia Lumia 1020 will be just up your alley, at a price of $388.00. If you fell in love with the other handset, the Nokia Lumia 930, you will find this device at the price of $599.99.
