Nokia Lumia 530 vs Xiaomi Redmi 1S – Best Specs and Price Comparison

The Nokia Lumia 530 was recently announced in July and awaited to be launched in third quarter of 2014. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has currently been released in India. However, there aren’t any details by now about its launch date in other sides of the world. For those who are interested in these two devices, Nokia Lumia 530 and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, here is a short comparison with their specs and features.

Exterior comparison

The Nokia Lumia 530 will come with a TFT display of 4 inches with a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and a pixel density of 245 ppi. Whereas, The Xiaomi Redmi 1S, features a bigger display of 4.7 inches (IPS LCD) with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280. The pixel density of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is 312 ppi.

Unlike the sharp angular edges made of plastic of the anterior Nokia Lumia 520 the new Nokia Lumia 530 comes with rounded corners. Tech Radar reported that both the handsets are very similar in their appearance and size. However, there is no detail about the outer design of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, just that the phone features a premium looking and the heavy rear panel with a matte effect that is alterable. The company is arranging to provide colorful rear panels for INR 459 ( at US$7 and AU$8).

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S is 0.39 inch thick and it weighs158 g., while the Nokia Lumia 530 is 0.46-inch and 129 g.

Memory Comparison

The Nokia Lumia 530 is bundled with a Quad Core processor QUALCOMM Snapdragon 200, at 1.2 GHz. Whereas the Xiaomi Redmi 1S device features a relatively powerful quad-core processor QUALCOMM Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7, clocked at 1.6 GHz. The Xiaomi phone comes packed with 1 GB of RAM and the Lumia 530 provides 512 MB of RAM. In addition, the Nokia phone has the operating system the Windows Phone 8.1, whilethe Xiaomi handset runs on Android OS, 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5.

The Lumia 530 is packed with 4 GB of in built memory, whereas the Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with 8 GB internal storage. Both the devices support micro SD card expandable up to 32 GB and 128 GB for the Xiaomi and Nokia respectively.

Battery and camera

The Nokia Lumia 530 is packed with a battery Li-Ion of 1430 mAh, and then the Redmi 1S comes with a long lasting unit Li-Ion 2000 mAh.

When it comes to camera, Nokia Lumia 530 comes with a 5 MP primary camera and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S houses a better 8 MP camera unit, with LED flash. Additionally, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 1.6 MP secondary camera unit, while the Nokia Lumia 530 does not provide a front facing shoother.

Others

Both the handsets support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and micro USB port, also dual SIM. Whereas the Nokia Lumia phone support micro SIM, the Xiaomi phone has mini SIM.
