Moto G vs LG Optimus L9 – Specs and Price Compared

The Motorola has been in and out of the smartphone race just like its counterpart, the LG Electronics.

However, with the release of updated devices from Samsung and other smartphone companies, Motorola and LG had to come up with unique and upgraded smartphones to stay in the mobile race. Let us put the two smartphones – Moto G and LG Optimus L9 against each other in terms of their features and specs, to determine which smartphone has a better chance of leading the smartphone race.

Design

Comparing the two smartphones with respect to their design, the LG Optimus L9 takes the lead with an extremely slim figure, that is light in weight. There is very less difference in terms of screen size. However, the difference lies in terms of screen resolution between the two smartphones. The Moto G offers the users with a 720p resolution in comparison to the 540 x 960 pixels of resolution offered by the Optimus L9 smartphone. As a result, the Moto G offers a superior pixel density of 326-ppi in comparison to the pixel density of 234-ppi, of the Optimus L9.

In addition, the Moto G comes with a branded screen protection of Corning Gorilla Grass 3 coating, in comparison to the older version of the L9 smartphone. The Moto G offers a superior multimedia experience to the user.

Hardware and Memory

Moto G derives its power from a quad core processor, running at a speed of 1.2GHz. In comparison, the dual core processor, clocked at 1GHz powers the Optimus L9 smartphone.

Comparing the two handsets in terms of hardware, the presence of dual memory options in the Moto G has enhanced its multimedia aspect even further. The Moto G comes in 8GB and 16GB internal storage capacity variants.

In comparison, the LG Optimus L9 comes with a single 4GB internal storage capacity variant. However, the external memory card slot for memory enhancement up to 64GB is an asset for the L9 smartphone.

Battery

A 2070 mAh battery powers the Moto G smartphone, as compared to the 2150 mAh battery unit of the Optimus L9 smartphone. Regardless, with small difference in terms of battery specs, both these smartphones offer almost similar battery life to the users.

Camera

The Moto G incorporates a 5MP primary camera offering the user 720p video recording ability. In comparison, the 5MP camera of the Optimus L9 smartphone offers full HD video recording ability to the user. The Moto G comes with superior features such as the stereo surround sound, panorama and HDR. In addition, the Moto G offers a better 1.3MP user-facing camera, in comparison to the VGA user-facing camera incorporated in the Optimus L9 smartphone.

Price

In terms of price, the LG Optimus L9 smartphone is readily available at the price of $170 whereas, the Motorola Moto G smartphone is available at a price of $240.

Overall, the Moto G smartphone comes with a better camera, performance and display features than that of the Optimus L9 smartphone. However, personal preference is the main ingredient when searching for a smartphone. So choose the one you think is right for you.
