Moto G vs. LG Optimus L9 – Design and Display Compared

Motorola is all set to take on the dominant position in the smartphone market.

With the release of Moto G smartphone by Motorola, the company has re-entered the smartphone arena with all guns blazing. On the other hand, LG has been desperately trying to steal the show away from the big guns in the market such as Samsung and Sony. However, all the efforts of the company have failed drastically until date. The recent release by the company, of the Optimus L9, might still offer a lot of promise for the masses.

Let us compare the Moto G in terms of design and display to that of the Optimus L9 smartphone.

Design

The LG gets all the applause in terms of its design. The smartphone is very thin when compared to the Moto G smartphone. The L9 comes with a thickness of 9.1mm in comparison to the 11.6mm thickness of the Moto G device. It comes as a surprise from Motorola, considering the fact that it released the Moto Razr smartphone, which was the slimmest smartphone in the industry.

In addition, the L9 is a light smartphone weighing just 120 grams. In comparison, the Moto G weighs around 140 grams.

Display

Both the smartphones come equipped with a 4.5-inch screen. The use of IPS panel adds to the beauty of both the devices. The IPS display is used in LCDs to present the user with crisp, clear and sharp colors. However, the point of difference is the resolution of both the devices. The Moto G takes the forefront with the 720p resolution. In comparison, the Optimus L9 offers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.

In addition, the Moto G makes use of the updated version of the Corning Gorilla Glass coating to protect the screen from scratches. In comparison, the Optimus L9 also makes use of Corning Gorilla Glass protection, which is rather an older version.

The superior resolution of the Moto G device offers the user with a perfect multimedia experience.

Despite the Optimus L9 offering the user with 720p display, the device has the ability to record full HD video by making use of its 5MP camera. In comparison, the Moto G is also equipped with a 5MP camera. However, the device can record only 720p video with its camera. The Moto G sensor comes equipped with additional features such as panorama, stereo sound recording and HDR. The front facing 1.3MP camera of the Moto G device is also a considerable upgrade in comparison to the VGA camera on the Optimus L9 device.
