Minecraft Xbox 360 and PS3 Receives Patch to Transfer Saves

The release date, for Minecraft PS4 and Xbox One editions, is really close.

4J studios didn’t officially confirm it, but in their Twitter handle, the development team has revealed a promising statement. The statement confirmed that they are working on a small update which is under testing process now. The particular update is going to allow users to transfer their files saved from their Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, to Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles, respectively.

It doesn’t end there, because this update will also make it easier for users who own the PS Vita console, to get files saved from their Playstation 3 platform. With everything going around and a lot of buzz found in their Twitter account, we can confirm that 4J Studios is prepping up for the big release. The release date could be anywhere in the month of September and October because the PS4 version has been submitted again to Sony for certificate testing. If things go as planned, the company should pass the cert testing within a week or so, which would let Mojang release the game in retail.

Transferring Saves

After you have spent so many hours building the perfect structures and earned a lot of items that help you survive in the game, it is impossible to leave them all behind while going to the new platform. When this question was posed a couple of months ago, Mojang and 4J in unison announced that they will do their best to let players transfer saves. There were some technical hurdles to cross, because the new generation consoles Xbox One and Playstation 4 doesn’t have the same architecture as their older counterparts. Besides, the textures, graphics and resolution are much improvised because of the higher hardware power lent by the platforms.

The developers at 4J have also significantly increased the world size of Minecraft PS4 and Minecraft Xbox One. Even though, it is not as big as the one found on PC, there will be significant changes that stop the easy transfer of these saves. However, after putting some hours of hard work, the team confirmed they will be able to allow players to shift most of their game play progress to the new platforms. For a long time, they were busy working on the PS4, as well as the Xbox One edition of the game, but now it seems 4J had found the time to work on this patch update instead.

Doctor Who Skin Pack Is Coming

For Xbox 360 owners, there’s additional news. The new Doctor Who Skin pack for Minecraft Xbox 360 is coming in the month of September. It will be made available on over 84 million Xbox devices around the globe. The skin pack has been made available after Microsoft managed to strike a deal with BBC Worldwide. Players will gain access to a whole lot of Doctor Who content, including five doctors, a new twelfth doctor as well as his arch rival the Daleks. The pack will be sold for a price of $2.99 in the US.
