Microsoft Surface Pro 3 vs Asus Transformer pad TF103C – Best Price and Specs Comparison

Microsoft and Asus are specialized in tablets and laptops, but today we’re focusing on two of their best products, the Surface pro 3 and the Transformer pad TF103C, which were released in June and received many positive reviews. But this is a battle and we’re trying to figure out which tablet has more to offer.

Displays, designs and sizes

The Surface pro 3 has a body size of 29×20.1×9.1mm, being made of metal, but you can easily access the home screen. The display measures 12inches, it is ClearType HD with a resolution of 2160x1440pixels and 216ppi. There is also a light sensor which provides an excellent brightness and the screen allows multitouch. The Transformer pad TF103C supports an additional QWERTY keypad and the 10.1inches IPS LCD display supports a lower resolution of 1280x800pixels which gives a pixel density of only 149ppi. When using the tablet in the sunlight, you’ll notice that the screen isn’t bright enough. The good thing about this tablet is that it supports multitouch – up to 10 fingers. The dimensions of this device are 257.4×178.4×9.9mm and 544grams.

Hardware and OS

The Surface Pro 3 comes in three variants of processors: i3 (3MB cache, clocked at 1.5GHz), i5 (3MB cache, clocked at 2.9GHz) and i7 (4MB cache, clocked at 3.3GHz) and has Intel HD Graphics GPU, perfect for gaming. It hosts 4 or 8GB of RAM and the built in storage is either 64GB, or 128GB, or 256GB and even 512GB. The tablet runs on the Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit OS.

The Transformer pad TF103C features a quad-core 1.33GHz processor, based on an Intel Atom Z3745 chipset, and it couples with 1GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 16GB (11GB out of the box) which can be expanded up to 64GB. The tablet runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.

Cameras

The Surface Pro 3 has a 5Mp camera on the back and another 5Mp camera on the front, both recording videos at 1080p HD, but they lack flash. The Asus tablet has a mediocre camera on the back of 2MP and no camera on the front.

Batteries

The Surface Pro 3 has a battery which supports around nine hours of web browsing. The Transformer pad TF103C’s non-removable Li-Po battery manages to lasts 8 hours and 20 minutes when browsing websites.

Prices

The Surface Pro 3 costs between 799 dollars and 1949 dollars, depending on the CPU variant. Asus has established the price of the Transformer pad TF103C to be at 289 dollars.
