The much awaited LG G Vista is finally here. Having been launched on 31st July, this phablet has an uncanny resemblance to the LG G3. It has a classy and clean uni-body look with smooth, narrow bezels. This slim, well-rounded phone is comfortable in the hand and a new rear key improves touch response a great deal.
The Screen
The phone has a huge capacitive 5.7 inch LCD screen with a 720 x 1280 resolution. It has a pixel density of 258 PPI. The screen is protected from scratches by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The expansive screen allows you to watch videos and view pictures in crisp HD clarity. With this device, you will be able to catch every detail.
Processor and Storage
Though it resembles the LG G3 in appearance, the similarity ends there. The LG G Vista is powered by a less powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. It also comes with an inbuilt Adreno 305 GPU. While the processor might not seem like much, it provides a seamless and smooth experience when running graphic intensive applications or multi-tasking.
The phone comes with RAM of 1GB and internal storage of 8GB. The storage can be expanded to 32 GB.
Operating System
The phablet runs on KitKat (Android 4.4.2) with the Optimus interface. Many people expected it to come with the 4.4.3 Android version, but there might be upgrades in future.
Camera
The LG G Vista has an 8MP rear-facing camera with LED flash. It also has a front-facing camera with a measly 1.3 MP. Nevertheless, it is adequate for taking selfies and video calling. It has a feature called gesture shutter that allows you to take selfies by simply moving your hand. With the rear camera, you can take precise shots, as it allows you to measure the distance to the subject with a laser beam.
Battery and Connectivity
The phone comes with an impressive 3200mAh battery that provides incredible power without additional bulk. It allows you to accomplish most tasks throughout the day without running out.
Just like the LG G3, the LG G Vista features high-end connectivity including 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB and NFC.
Other Features
Knock Code
This is a nifty feature that allows you to access your home screen by tapping a 3 to 8 point code. There are over 86,000 possible combinations making it hard to crack.
Smart Keyboard
This phone comes with a keyboard that adapts to your habits. This will allow you to type messages faster and more accurately. It features QuickMove, Seamless Typing and Smart Personalization.
Mini View
Due to the large screen size, LG has devised a smart way of making navigation easier. It is possible to make the large screen shrink to a more reasonable size and gravitate towards your palm making it easier to control the phone with your thumb.
Dual Window
It is possible to split the screen into two windows. This allows users to multi-task more efficiently.
Price
The LG G Vista will set you back by $499, off contract, in the US.
