iPhone 5C vs Asus ZenFone 5 – Top Specs, Battery Life and Price Comparison

Apple is one of the favorite phone manufacturers and the fans are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on its iPhones. But the 5C has a competitor, the ZenFone 5, which uses the same GPU. There are similarities and differences between these phones and we’ll list all of them to help you pick the right phone for you.

Displays and sizes

The iPhone 5C has the same screen size as all of its brothers, 4inches, being equipped with a LED-backlit IPS LCD display which supports a resolution of 640x1136pixels and 326ppi. This model is Apple’s first experiment with a plastic body and the phone was well received mostly because of the rear panels coming in vivid colors. This device is weighting 132grams and its dimensions are 124.4×59.2x9mm.

The phone uses a PowerVR SGX543MP3 GPU, while the Zenfone 5 has the SGX544MP2 GPU version, but the Asus phone is powered by two variants of processors – dual core 2GHz/Intel Atom Z2580 chipset or 1.6GHz/ Intel Atom Z2560.

The iPhone 4C has 1GB of RAM and two unexpandable variants of internal storage with the capacity or 8/16/32 GB, and it runs on the iOS 7, with the possibility to upgrade it to iOS 7.1.2 and later to iOS 8.

The Zenfone 5 is an Android based smartphone which runs on the v4.3 (Jelly Bean), but you can upgrade it to v4.4.2 (KitKat). This phone has 8 and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 64GB and 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

Cameras

Both phones have 8MP rear cameras with 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus and LED flash and the only mutual feature is geo tagging. The iPhone 5C offers face detection, panorama, HDR, touch focus and simultaneous HD video and image recording. The secondary camera is 1.2MP, while the Zenfone 5 has a 2MP front camera. Both primary cameras record videos at 1080p@30fps.

Batteries

Both phones have non removable Li-Po batteries, but the Zenfone 5 has a bigger battery with the capacity of 2110mAh, which allows up to 18hours and 30 minutes of talktime on 3G. If you want the iPhone 5C, you’ll have to settle with its 1510mAh battery which lasts 10hours when talking on 3G.

Prices

The price of the iPhone 5C 16GB variant is 517 dollars, while the 32GB variant costs 563 dollars. The Zenfone 5 16GB variant is priced at 220 dollars. These prices are available on amazon.com.
