Huawei Honor 3C vs LG L90 – Best Prices and Top Specifications Comparison

These phones were released in the same period of time and they are very different internally and externally. But we’re interested in their performance and we analyzed their specs and features to come up with a winner. And that is the Honor 3C because it has a bigger display, with a higher resolution, and the processor is also faster. Not to mention the amazing front camera.

Displays, designs and sizes

First, let’s refer to L90’s exterior, and we’ll tell you where you’ll find the main buttons: power – on the right and volume rocker – on the left. This is a classy entry-level phone with a plastic case, looking a lot like the LG G2. The display is 4.7inches, IPS LCD, with 540x960pixels and 234ppi and has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection on top of it. The images might not be very crisp, but this phone is useful for web browsing or facebook. The device weights 126grams and its dimensions are 131.6x66x9.7mm.

The Honor 3C has a rectangular body with round edges and it’s available in white and black, just like the LG L90. It’s heavier, weighting 140grams, but that’s because is bigger – 139.5×71.4×9.2mm. This means that the display is also larger, measuring 5inches, it’s IPS LCD and it renders a higher resolution – 720x1280pixels, which gives a pixel density of 294ppi.

Hardware and OS

Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)

The L90 isn’t one of the fastest running smartphones, but it doesn’t offer a mediocre performance either. A phone of its range handles pressure very well with the 1.2GHz quad core Cortex A7, which is backed by a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset and an Adreno 305 GPU, but the fact that it has only 1GB of RAM is a big disadvantage. The internal memory is ok at 8GB, but it’s expandable up to 32GB, in case you need more space, and the operating system is Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).

The Honor 3C comes with a 1.3GHz quad core processor, based on a Mediatek MT6582 chipset and uses a Mali-400MP2 GPU. It has an internal memory with the same capacity and it’s expandable up to 32GB as well, but the RAM is bigger, at 2GB, so from this point of view, we’re more satisfied with the way this phone is running. The only draw back is the older Android version – 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) running it, but at least the phone comes with its own UI, Emotion 2.0 Lite.

Cameras

The LG handset is available in two variants of camera resolutions, depending on the market: 8MP and 5MP, and both of them feature autofocus, LED flash, HDR, panorama and geo tagging. The front camera is very poor, at 1.3MP or VGA. The Honor 3C has an 8MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, touch focus and geo tagging, and the attraction of this phone is the 5MP camera on its front, with 22mm wide angle lens.

Batteries

The batteries are both user replaceable: Li-Ion 2540mAh on the L90 and Li-Po 2300mAh on the Honor 3C.

Prices

The pricing for the LG L90 is 236 dollars and for the Honor 3G is 205 dollars.
