Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Set for Gamescom 2014

Ubisoft’s two biggest games Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed Rogue along with AC Unity will be playable at the European gaming expo, GamesCom 2014.

The event which is scheduled to place from August 13 to August 17 has garnered enough attention. There was a time when Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 was the only go-to place for gaming but this year things look a lot different. Almost all the game developers and publishers including Konami, EA, Ubisoft, Microsoft and Sony are planning to be there in Cologne, Germany to grace the event. It has also been officially announced that the big multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will take place during this event which will be streamed live exclusively for Xbox One gamers.

On the other hand, Far Cry 4 has generated a lot of hype given its open world design and the fact that it is set in one of the most popular mountain regions in the world – the Himalayas. The game has a lot of good things to look forward to including elephants to ride, mini helicopters and four player co-op which is going to be the key selling point. The co-op factor has caught up all of a sudden and it is also being implemented in Assassin’s Creed Unity where all players will be playing a single mission, at the same time.

Games Lined Up

Gamescom 2014 has a lot of titles lined up with Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed Rogue being the pick of the lot. AC Rogue is a game that will get exclusive launched on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platform. When Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Unity, they confirmed that it is going to be only on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 platforms. This led to a disappointment among the older generation console owners who were eagerly awaiting an announcement when the Rogue trailer got leaked.

The company later made the announcement official and added that the storyline of the game will focus on filling the gaps in the storyline between Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Ubisoft has a whole lot of other games lined up as well. This includes The Division, Just Dance, and Unity among another unannounced PC title as well as mobile platforms. It is going to be a great event for gamers who can play almost all the most wanted titles months before their actual release date.

Special Editions

It is expected that Gamescom 2014 will have special focus on titles that are going to get released this year. Far Cry 4 is one among them which has been confirmed to have a special edition with statue of the antagonist in the game besides multiple exclusive in-game items. There are also retailer specific items which will be provided to gamers based on the store from which they choose to pre-order the game. If you can make it to Cologne, Germany, during the Gamescom event make sure to play Far Cry 4 as well all the other titles that you might enjoy.
