BlackBerry Z3 vs HTC Desire 616 – Specification, Features and Price Comparison

Blackberry still has something to say and to remind you that the company is one of the best of its kind and the products they release deserve our attention. And the BlackBerry Z3 is a great smartphone that we’ll compare with the Desire 616, in order to help you decide which one is a better buy.

Displays and sizes

Both of these models sport 5inches displays, but they support different resolutions. The Z3 renders a resolution of 540×960 pixels and the pixel density sits at 220ppi, plus it features an accelerometer and a proximity sensor. The phone is sleek, measuring 140×72.8×9.3mm and it feels comfortable in your hand because it doesn’t weight too much. Only 160grams.

The Desire 616 offers more vivid colors thanks to its resolution of 720x1280pixels and pixel density of 294ppi. The screen supports 16M colors and comes with accelerometer and proximity sensors, as well and has HTC Sense 5.5 UI on top of it. This phone is 10grams lighter and its dimensions are 142×71.9×9.2mm.

Hardware and OS

The Blackberry Z3 features a dual core 1.2Ghz Krait 200 processor, which couples with a Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon 400 SoC and an Adreno 305 GPU, and the 1.5GB of RAM has its contribution to the good performance of this phone, which runs on the company’s BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS. As for the internal memory, it has a capacity of 8GB, which is expandable up to 32GB.

The HTC Desire 616 is an Android device running on the 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) version, with 1GB of RAM. Under its hood we find an octa core 1.4GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, based on a Mediatek MT6592 SoC, and the phone is using a Mali-450MP4 GPU. This modelhosts 4GB of internal storage, but you can expand it up to 32GB.

Cameras

The Blackberry Z3 doesn’t really excel with the 5MP rear camera, but you’ll have some useful features on it, such as autofocus, LED flash and geo tagging, plus it records videos at 1080p. For video calling, you can use the 1.1MP camera on the front, which has a pixel quality of 720p.

The Desire 616 has a far more advanced rear camera, with a resolution of 8MP and more features which include: autofocus, LED flash, geo tagging, HDR, simultaneous HD video and image recording and face detection. With this camera you can record videos at 1080p@30fps. There’s also another camera on the front of 2MP with the same video recording capabilities.
Batteries

The Blackberry model has anon-removable Li-Ion 2500mAh battery which provides up to 15 hours and a half of talktime on 3G. The Desire 616 has a Li-Po 2000mAh battery with which you can talk 14hours on 3G.

Prices

The Blackberry Z3 is priced around 250 dollars, while the Desire 616 is 20 dollars more expensive. These phones are quite popular on the Indian market.
