Apple iPhone 4s vs Lenovo A859 – Best Prices and Specs Comparison

Three years have passed since the release of the iPhone 4S and this smartphone is still highly coveted, not only because Apple is a brand that everyone trusts and respects, but because this smartphone has better features than other devices launched in 2014. But can it beat the Lenovo A859, a popular business phone rich in features?

Displays and sizes

The iPhone S is “tinier” than many of the smartphones from the market, and its attractive look will surely convince you to buy it. But what’s under the hood matters more. Until then, we’ll tell you something about the 3.5inches display which renders a resolution of 640x960pixels which gives a pixel density of 330ppi. The screen is covered by oleophobic coating and Corning Gorilla Glass, so it’s scratch resistant. The dimensions of this pretty phone are 115.2×58.6×9.3mm and it weights 140grams.

The Lenovo A859 is over 23grams heavier, but it’s a lot taller, being 142×72.5×9.2mm in body size. It has a 5inches IPS LCD display with 16M colors, a resolution of 720x1280pixels and 294ppi. There are light and proximity present on this phone with a glossy design.

Hardware and OS

The performance of this phone is quite low, because of its outdated components. It features a 1 dual core Cortex A9 processor, based on an Apple A5 chipset. Also, the phone uses a PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, which matches with 512MB of RAM. The operating system is iOS5, which was upgraded to iOS 7.1.2 and soon, it will receive iOS 8. The internal memory is fixed at 8/16/32/64 GB.

The other phone runs on the Android platform, on v4.2 (Jelly Bean) more precisely, and it features a 1.3GHz quad core Cortex A7, which teams up with a Mediatek MT6582 chipset and a Mali-400MP2 GPU. The phone supports 1GB of RAM and hosts 8GB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB.

Cameras

Both phones have rear cameras of 8MP, but the iPhone 4S has more features to offer: autofocus, LED flash, 1/3.2” sensor size and 1.4 µm pixel size, touch focus, geo tagging, panorama, HDR, face detection and video recording at 1080p@30fps. It also sports a VGA front camera which records at 480p@30fps and supports videocalling over WiFi and 3G. The Lenovo A859 features only autofocus, LED flash and geo tagging and has another 1.6MP camera on the front.

Batteries

The iPhone 4S’s battery is non removable, it’s a Li-Po with a capacity of 1432mAh (5.3 Wh), which provides 8hours of talktime on 3G and 14hours of talktime on 2G. The Lenovo smartphone has a bigger battery – 2250mAh, which is also Li-Po, but it offers only 10 hours of talktime.

Prices

The 16GB variant of the iPhone 4S can be found on aamzon.com at the price of 338 dollars. The Lenovo A859 is much cheaper, being priced at 220 dollars.
