Today we thought we’d compare two mid range smartphones for those of you who aren’t willing to spend that much money on a phone, but would rather spend it on something else. Sony’s Xperia E1 and Oppo’s Find 7a are two very nice options when you’re looking for a cheaper handset to buy.
Oppo Find 7a
This device has very nice features for the price you get it at. The handset runs on Android Jelly Bean, which is a good operating system, but if you’re always looking for the latest updates, Google already has on the market Android KitKat and Android L (although, technically, there is yet no phone released with this OS).
Design & Display
Oppo is known for giving its devices a very nice design as well as display. We can see that the Find 7a has a glossy finish that provides a good grip. As for display, we can see an IPS LCD model that measures 5.5 inches. The imaging is very nice as well, seeing how the handset supports a pixel density of 403 ppi. We don’t have anything to complain about in this department.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The handset does very good in the hardware category. The processor that powers the Oppo device is a quad core working at 2.3 GHz. The smartphone supports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The camera is what really amazes: a 13MP primary camera with features like dual LED and HD video shooting and a secondary camera of 5MP. The battery unit housed by the Oppo Find 7a has a capacity of 2800 mAh.
Price
If you’ve decided you want to buy this handset, you will find it at the price of $270.00.
Sony Xperia E1
You will be delighted by the features the Sony Xperia E1 brings, but if you’re a music enthusiast – you will absolutely fall in love with this smartphone seeing how Sony always tends to give great sound features to its devices.
Design & Display
When looking at the design of the handset, we can see a full plastic exterior which would initially seem like something of not so great quality – but actually, the Xperia E1 looks very polished and gives a comfortable grip. What we love about the smartphone is that it is one of the lightest phones on the market, which makes it very good with portability. You will find a Walkman button at the top of the phone. As for display, we see a 4 inches display that comes with a lesser pixel density of 233 pixels-per-inch.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The Xperia E1 is powered by a dual core processor working at 1.2 GHz. The device supports 512 MB of RAM (which we feel should have been at least 1 GB) and 4 GB of internal memory (expandable by up to 32 GB via microSD card). The device comes with a 5MP primary camera that comes with the same basic features we saw with the Find 7a, except the HD video shooting. As for battery, the smartphone houses a 1750 mAh battery unit.
Price
The Sony Xperia E1 is priced at $194.84.
