Sony Xperia C3 vs HTC One E8 – Top Specs, Features and Price Comparison

The Xperia C3, which is knows as the “world’s best selfie smartphone”, was recently released in China, and in short time, it will hit the stores from around the world. The HTC One E8, also known as the HTC One Ace, is the plastic variant of the HTC One M8. Let’s take a look at their specs and see if they are worth their prices.

Displays, Designs and Sizes

The HTC One E8 has a 5inches IPS LCD display, which supports a resolution of 1,080×1,920pixels and 441ppi. The Xperia C3 has a larger display – 5.5inches, which is also IPS LCD, but it supports a lower resolution – 720×1,280pixels and 267ppi.

As we were saying, the HTC One E8 is the plastic variant of the One M8, being made of polycarbonate material, and it weights 145grams, 15grams lighter than the previous version. The smartphone is 0.39inches thick.

The Xperia C3 benefits from the Triluminos display, so it reproduces color and images perfectly. The Sony model is 0.30inches thick and it weights 149grams.

Hardware and OS

The HTC One E8 comes with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801), while the Xperia C3 has a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400). As for the internal memory, the Xperia C3 comes with 8GB – expandable up to 32GB, while the HTC One E8 comes with 8GB of storage capacity, but it’s expandable up to 128GB.

The HTC One E8 runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with HTC’s Sense 6.0 UI and 2GB of RAM. The Xperia C3 runs on the same OS with 2GB of RAM.

Cameras and Batteries

The HTC One E8’s primary camera is better – 13MP (LED flash) and has a 5MP front camera – the same as Xperia C3’s secondary camera, but which has a unique frontal LED flash. Plus, it provides an 80degree target view and you can take selfies in multiple ways. The Smile Shutter function allows the user to take “selfies” only when he’s smiling. The primary camera on this device is of 8MP.

In terms of batteries, both of the smartphones have non-removable ones, but of different capacities – the HTC One E8 – 2600mAh (26 hours of talktime) and the Xperia C3 – 2500mAh (25 hours of talktime).

  •  Only the Xperia C3 supports NFC
  •  The Xperia C3 supports Micro-Sim, whereas the HTC model supports Nano-Sim and both of the smartphones as Dual-Sims
  •  The available shades for the HTC One E8 are: maldives blue, electric crimson, misty gray and polar white. The Xperia C3 comes in white, black and mint shades.

The HTC One E8 can be bought from welectronics.com at the price of 550 dollars. The Xperia C3 will cost around 385 dollars.
