Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Nokia Lumia 930 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

The Lumia 930 was released a few days ago, being the most expensive Nokia smartphone. Unfortunately, this price doesn’t reflect its real value, because the Galaxy S5 outpaces it in many areas. But, the Lumia 930 is boasting about the better camera. Let’s take a look at both phones’ specs, to see which one deserves to be in your pocket.

Displays

Nokia revealed on its site the screen size of the Lumia 930 as being of 5inches, with a resolution of 1920x1080pixels and 441ppi. The Galaxy S5 has slightly bigger screen, measuring 5.1inches, which is a Super AMOLED display with the same resolution, but with a lower pixel density – 432ppi.

Hardware and OS

Both of the models are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, but the Galaxy S5 has better specifications: 2.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 processor, which is obviously more superior to Lumia 930’s 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor.

Another thing they have in common: they host 32GB of internal storage, only that Lumia 930’s internal memory is expandable up to 128GB and Microsoft OneDrive offers 7GB of cloud storage.

As for the OS, they run on different platforms: the Galaxy S5 runs on the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat version with 2GB of RAM, while the Lumia 930 runs on the Windows 8.1 OS with 2GB of RAM, as well.

Cameras

Nokia Lumia 930 has a better primary camera – 20MP Pure View with Dual Flash and 4 directional microphones (with Surround-Sound). The Galaxy S5 has a 16MP rear camera (dual shot, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection simultaneous HD video & image recording and image stabilization.

The Galaxy S5 16GB variant can be found on amazon.com at the price of 650 dollars.

The Nokia Lumia 930 is available through Telstra, Optus and Vodafone (Australia) at the price of 729 dollars, or 1000 dollars in New Zeeland.

– The Lumia 930 comes pre-installed with MixRadio and has cool features such as OneNote, Kid’s Corner, Family Room, Wallet, Social networks in Phonebook, Lync (Corporate IM) – which can be download for free + Company Hub for enterprise applications. The device can read pdf, Excell, Word, OneNote or ppt formats. If you like to play games, then you’ll have some built-in game apps: XBox-Live Hub, Touch UI, Adidas miCoach, DirectX 11.
