The Taiwanese manufacturer HTC Corporation is competing with one of the biggest conglomerate companies, Samsung. Both of them are preparing to release their new smartphones, One M8 Prime and Galaxy S5 Prime, and we’re waiting anxiously to see them in stores. This is a comparison between these models, and you’ll get to decide which one is worth your money.
A very reliable source, @evleaks, tweeted that the One M8 Prime will have a casing that will be a combination between aluminum and liquid silicon and it’s going to be water resistant. As for the Galaxy S5 Prime, it is speculated that will come with a gold metal casing.
HTC One M8 Prime will be slightly bigger than the Galaxy S5 Prime, as @evleaks assures us. The HTC model will have a 5.5inches display with a resolution of 2560x1440pixels, and according to some other leaks, the Galaxy S5 Prime will feature a 5.2inches display, with the same resolution as the One M8 Prime.
HTC outpaces Samsung in terms of cameras, because according to PC World, the One M8 Prime will come with an 18MP duo camera + 5MP camera on the front. PC Advisor stated that the Galaxy S5 Prime will have a 16MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera – with optical image stabilization.
Both of the smartphones will be powered by the same 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU, paired with 3GB of RAM, but the Galaxy S5 Prime will be equipped with an Adreno 420 GPU and an internal memory of 32GB, but we don’t know yet the storage capacity of the HTC One M8 Prime.
According to PC World, it seems that the One M8 Prime will run on either Android 4.4.2 or Android 4.4.3 OS and HTC’s Sense 6.5 UI. The phablet will support 6 LTE, which should allow a download speed of 300mbps. AS for the Galaxy S5 Prime, PC Advisor mentioned that it will run on the Android 4.4.3 KitKat version and will have Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
PC Advisor also stated that the Galaxy S5 Prime will cost around over 1000 dollars, while PC World thinks that the One M8 Prime will cost between 940-1000 dollars.
