What’s special about the Moto X is the Active Display feature which comes with the Android version installed on it. How does this feature help you? Well, when you have the phone in your pocket and you pull it out, the portion with the time and the unlock icon from the display illuminates. Smart, huh? Ok, we surely love this phone, but can it defeat Samsung’s Galaxy S4, which has a higher screen resolution, a better camera and battery?
Displays and Sizes
The winner of this category is clearly the Galaxy S4, which has a bigger screen – 5inches (Super AMOLED), with a higher resolution – 1,080×1,920pixels. The Moto X has a 4.7inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 720×1,280pixels. It’s neither low nor high, so Motorola’s model isn’t embarrassing itself.
The Moto X is weighting 130grams and its dimensions are 129.3×65.3×10.4mm. The Galaxy S4 has the same weight, but it measures 136.6×69.8×7.9mm.
Hardware and OS
The Moto X is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait processor which teams up with the Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon chipset. There are two available variants of internal memories: 16 and 32GB, which are unexpandable.
The Galaxy S4 comes with a 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex A15 & 1.2GHz quad-core cortex A7 processor and the chipset is Exynos 5 Octa 5410. This phone has three variants of internal storage: 16 and 32GB – expandable up to 64GB + a 64GB variant.
As for the OS, both of them run on the Android Jelly Bean version with 2GB of RAM.
Cameras
The Moto X has a weaker primary camera – 10MP (autofocus and LED flash), and it has a same secondary camera with the same resolution as Galaxy S4’s front camera – 2MP, only that this phone has a much more advanced rear camera – 13MP.
Batteries
The Moto X lasts only 13hours when talking on it, because it has a capacity of 2,200mAh. The Galaxy S4’s battery is better, having a capacity of 2,600mAh with which you can talk 17hours, on 3G. If you’re in the mood to listen music, the battery will last 62hours.

The Moto X 16GB variant can be found on amazon.com at the price of 308 dollars. The Galaxy S4 16GB variant costs 428 dollars.
