Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim vs Nokia Lumia 635 – Price and Specs Comparison

Again, we’re comparing two phones that run on two different operating systems. We decided to compare the Galaxy S3 Slim with the Lumia 635, which aren’t the best phones from the market, but in case you’re interested in purchasing one of them, take a look at their specs and features first.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim

This smartphone was released in March this year and what’s admirable about it is the perfect design, coupled with high-end features.

Display and Sizes

This Galaxy model has a TFT display with the size of 4.5inches, 16M colors and a decent resolution of 540x960pixels + 244ppi. The display allows multi touch and it runs smoothly, having a moderate pixel density and an ultra thin design. It measures 133x66x9.7mm and it weights 139grams.

Hardware and OS

This nice looking phone is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, which is backed up with 1024MB of RAM. The internal memory is of 8GB, but with a MicroSD card, you can get up to 32GB of internal storage. The device is running on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and you can install all kinds of apps and games on it.

Camera

The Galaxy S3 Slim has a 5MP rear camera with 2592х1944pixels, autofocus, LED flash and geo-tagging and you would get more accurate pictures if the camera wouldn’t lack features such as smile detection and HDR. The camera on the front is VGA, but it’s good enough for video conferences.

Battery

The phone’s battery is Li-Ion and has a capacity of 2100mAh, which offers a decent battery life time.

Price

The Galaxy S3 Slim is a Dual Sim smartphone and its price is 240 dollars on amazon.com.

Nokia Lumia 635

The Lumia model was released last month and it came in green, yellow, red, orange and other vibrant colors. On the outside, the phone looks great, but does it have the right features to make it a high end device?

Display and Sizes

The smartphone has an IPS LCD display of 4.5inches, with 16M colors, a lower resolution than the Galaxy S3 Slim – 480x854pixels and 218ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, so you shouldn’t worry about scratches, plus, the display has light and proximity sensors. As for the dimensions, the Lumia 635 is smaller, measuring 129.5×66.7×9.2mm and it’s also lighter – 134grams.

Hardware and OS

The smartphone has a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, which is coupled with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and an Adreno 305 GPU. The internal storage is of 8GB – expandable up to 32GB and it hosts only 512MB of RAM. The operating system of the Lumia 635 is Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1.

Camera

The phone has only a camera on the back of 5MP with features such as 2592х1944pixels, autofocus, geo-tagging, panorama and 1/4” sensor size, and has a video recording capability of 720p@30fps.

Battery

This model has a weaker battery as well – 1830mAh, but it allows up to 14 hours of talk time on 3G.

Price

The phone is available through AT&T at the price of 99 dollars with a one-year contract.
