Design and Display

The Galaxy S Duos 2 smartphone comes equipped with a 4 inch display. The TFT touchscreen has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. On the other hand, the Galaxy Core device comprises of a slightly bigger 4.3 inch touchscreen. Despite the screen being a tad bigger than the S Duos 2 smartphone, the resolution is the same of both these handsets.

The Galaxy S Duos 2 device has dimensions measuring 121.5mm x 63.1mm x 10.6mm in terms of stature, breadth and thickness. The weight of the device comes down to 118 grams that is lighter, in comparison to the weight of the Core device, which weighs around 124 grams. The Core handset from Galaxy series measures 129.3mm in stature, 67.6mm in breadth and 9mm in thickness.

Operating System and Processor

In terms of operating system, both these handsets make use of Android based Jelly Bean OS.

However, in terms of hardware, both these devices have little difference between them. The S Duos 2 handset is powered with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor with Cortex A9 cores. The device comes equipped with a BCM chipset and a RAM of 768MB. The device has an internal storage capacity of 4GB that can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.

In comparison, the Core device comprises of a 1.2GHz dual core processor along with Cortex A5 cores. However, the device comes equipped with an improved Snapdragon S4 chipset. The smartphone has a RAM of 1GB, more than its counterpart, the S Duos 2 device. In terms of internal memory, the Core has an upper edge with 8GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB with the help of a microSD card.

Battery

Galaxy Core takes the lead in this field coming with an 1800 mAh battery in comparison to the 1500 mAh battery unit of the S Duos 2 smartphone.
