Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Core Advance – Specs and Price Comparison

In this article we’re comparing two successors of some famous models (Galaxy Core Advance and S Duos) which were released in 2013. The Galaxy Core Advance isn’t very different from its opponent, the S Duos 2. Yes, it has a bigger display, more RAM and ROM, and a better battery, but the price reflects these advantages.

Displays and sizes

The Galaxy Core Advance has 4.7inches screen, much bigger than Galaxy S Duos 2’s 4inches screen. But both of them have the same resolution of 480x800pixels. So, the Core Advance is measuring 133.3×70.5 x9.7milimeters and it weights 145grams. The S Duos S is 27grams lighter and its dimensions are 121.5×63.1×10.5. The Core Advance’s battery has a higher capacity – 2000mAh, while the S Duos’ 1500mAh battery is trying hard to keep up the pace.

Hardware, memories, cameras and OS

Both of the Samsung phones are powered by the same 1.2GHz dual-core processors, only that the Galaxy Core Advance has 1GB of RAM, while its sibling has 768MB of RAM. The Core Advance has 8GB of ROM, while the S Duos 2 has half of its internal storage, but both of them support a micro SD slot card, and you can add memory up to 64GB. Also, both of the models have a 5MP (Flash) and a 0.3MP front camera. They run on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, they support GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth and FM, but only the Core Advance supports NFC.

Core Advance – Advantages and Disadvantages

The Core Advance has an affordable price, being an improved version of the original Core, which was released in May, last year. So, its predecessor had a 4.3inches display which “grew” over night up to 4.7inches, but the resolution remained the same. The Android version can be upgraded to 4.4KitKat. The disadvantage of this model is that it doesn’t support 4G.

S Duos 2 – Advantages and Disadvantages

The S Duos 2 is also a successor of another model – S Duos, but it comes at a lower price. Its display is LCD and it consumes more energy than an AMOLED display. The phone has some cool applications which you can find in the Notification panel. You can resize the apps and customize the home screen the way you like it. The camera has these features that help you take excellent pictures: Best Photo, Continuous Shot, and has Panorama and Night mode.

Prices

You can buy the S Duos 2 from amazon.com at the price of 152 dollars. The Core Advance costs 295 dollars.
