Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs HTC One Max – Top Specifications and Price Comparison

In this article, we’re comparing two amazing phablets which render the same screen resolution. They have many features in common, but you’ll understand why the Note 3 is better than the HTC One Max.

HTC One Max

This phablet is big, shiny and has an app named BlinkFeed which populates your screen with all kinds of news. This device was released in October 2013.

Display and sizes

The HTC One Max comes with a Super LCD3 display with 16M colors and a size of 5.9inches. Although the screen resolution is decent – 1080×1920 pixels, the pixel density was kept at 373ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 3, and the device is quite heavy, weighting 217grams, but it is also due to the fact that the phablet is very tall, measuring 164.5×82.5×10.3mm.

Hardware, Camera and Battery

This device has a fingerprint sensor and it runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with 2GB of RAM. It’s powered by a Quad-core 1.7GHz Krait 300, it has a Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon 600 chipset and Adreno 320 GPU. The internal memory is in two variants: 16 and 32GB, the primary camera is 4MP (2688x1520pixels, autofocus, LED flash) and the secondary camera is 2.1MP. The battery is very powerful, having a capacity of 3300mAh – non-removable, which allows you to talk 25hours.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

The Note 3 comes with the S Pen and 5 and an Air Command which allows you to access Scrapbook, Action Memo, Pen Windows, S Finder and Screen Write. The phablet was released last year in September and within a month it has sold 5 million units.

Display and sizes

The Galaxy Note 3’s display is Super AMOLED 16M colors, it’s smaller – 5.9inches and it supports the same resolution of 1080x1920pixels, but the pixel density is higher – 386ppi. It’s also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, it weights 168grams and its dimensions are 151.2×79.2×8.3 mm.

Hardware, Camera and Battery

The HTC One Max definitely has a better sound system than its opponent, coming with Boom sound dual front stereo speakers + in built amplifiers. In terms of hardware, the Galaxy Note 3 is available in three variants of models: N9005, N9002 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, Quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU and N9000: Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset, Quad-core (1.9 GHz) Cortex-A15 & quad-core (1.3 GHz) Cortex-A7 CPU and Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and 16/32/64GB of ROM. It runs on the Android OS, v4.3Jelly Bean, which is upgradable to 4.4.2KitKat. The primary camera is 13MP (4128x3096pixels, autofocus, LED flash) and the secondary camera is 2MP. The battery is Li-Ion and it has a capacity of 3200mAh, which allows you to talk 21hours.

Verdict

The Note 3 beats the HTC One Max with the 2.3GHz Quad core processor, and although the HTC phone has some cool features, the Note 3’s 13MP camera humiliates the 4MP camera on the HTC One Max.
