With the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 soon to be released, we thought we would remember the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and its great specs. Today we’re making a comparison between Samsung’s current flagship phablet and some of the top smartphones on the market: iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy S4 and its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Galaxy Note 3 Specifications
The device is quite slim for its display, showing off the following dimensions: 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm and weighing 168 g. The display measures 5.7 inches and it is a Super AMOLED model with 16M colors. The screen resolution on this handset is of 1080 x 1920 pixels and we can see that the screen has a multi touch system. To protect against scratches, the phablet comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Note 3 supports 3GB of RAM and comes with a 13MP main camera that has features like HD video, panorama, dual shot, image stabilization, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, HDR and touch focus. Samsung equipped the Note 3 with a Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 3200 mAh which can lst up to 75 hours of stand-by time.
As for exterior, we can see that the handset has a card slot for microSD, a 3.5 mm jack and can come in multiple color schemes: Rose Gold White, Rose Gold Black, Black, White, Pink and Merlot Red.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Apple iPhone 5S
The iPhone 5 has also multiple options for color schemes, but this one has the following colors: Gold, Silver and Space Gray. The Apple handset comes with a much smaller 4 inches display, while the Note 3 from Samsung has a 5.7 inches one. This device is also slimmer, showing off the following dimensions: 151.20 x 79.20 x 8.30 mm.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Samsung Galaxy S4
The Samsung Galaxy S4 weighs only 130 grams, where as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is quite heavier, weighing 168 grams. Both handsets run on the Android platform, as we usually see handsets from Samsung. While you already saw the multitude of colors the Note 3 is available in, you may be curious to find out that the Galaxy S4 also has some pretty great colors: White Frost and Black Mist.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Note 3’s predecessor is actually heavier, weighing 183 g. The battery unit also had a smaller capacity of 3100 mAh. The colors in which you can find the Galaxy Note 2 are Marble White and Titanium Gray. The display was slightly smaller, at 5.5 inches and it can render a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The processor that powers this handset is a quad core working at 1.6GHz, while Samsung very much improved on the Note 3 hardware: octa core processor working at 1.9 GHz. The Note 2 comes with only 2GB of RAM, while the Note 3 comes with 3GB.
