Hardware and OS
The Note 10.1 offers two variants of processors for the 3G/Wi-Fi or the 4G LTE models. So, the 3G/Wi-Fi models are powered by a Quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 CPU, while the other variant has a Quad-core 1.9GHz Cortex-A15& quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, and both of the models come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and 3GB of RAM.
The iPad 5 sports an Apple A7 chip, and it’s 31faster than the A6. The processor is dual-core 1.3GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) and the device hosts 1GB of RAM DDR3.
The Note 10.1 takes great pictures with its 8MP primary camera (3264x2448pixels, autofocus, LED flash) and for video calls, you can use the 1.2MP front camera. The Ipad 5 has a weaker primary camera – 5MP (2592×1944 pixels, autofocus) and the secondary camera is also 1.2MP.
Both of the tablets have non-removable batteries, but of different capacities: the Note 10.1’s battery is Li-Po with 8220mAh, but you can use it for 10hours (multimedia). The same battery life has iPad 5’s Li-Po 8,820mAh battery.
The Note 10.1 features the popular S Pen stylus, which was improved and reduced in size, and it can be stored horizontally. One of the coolest apps on the new tablet is “Samsung Content Gifts” and includes Samsung’s Autodesk Sketchbook, a better version of Twitter and some content from The New York Times.
The iPad 5 was rumored to come with a fingerprint scanner, but the fans were disappointed when their dream was ruined, so they’ll have to settle with the iPhone 5S’s fingerprint scanner.
The 32GB variant of the Note 10.1 2014 edition costs around 600 dollars, while the iPad 5 32GB variant can be found at the price of 540 dollars on amazon.com.
