Samsung Galaxy Core Lite vs HTC Desire 610 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

The two smartphones are very much alike in several aspects, but also showcase their originality through various features that represent their brand name. You can get both of these phones for about the same money, and they are satisfying for the daily routine of an average consumer.

Samsung Galaxy Core Lite

The Galaxy Core Lite was released to the public running Android Jelly Bean in June 2014, and not the new Android KitKat as it was speculated before its release. No front camera is available on this device.

Design and Display

Although the Galaxy Core Lite has a fairly big display, of 4.7 inch and 199 ppi, it lacks the screen protection you might find on other devices. The fact that it didn’t receive support for a multi touch function is probably the biggest downside about this display.

Camera, Specs, and Battery

Looking at specification, we can see a quad core processor, and 1 GB of RAM that keep the device from going downhill completely. A 5 MP camera is present on the back, capable of auto focus and equipped with a Flash LED, but no secondary lens was made available for this phone. It can shoot 720 p video at 30 frames per second, and supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks. The battery is not amazing, only 2000 mAh.

HTC Desire 610

The HTC Desire 610 was announced by HTC in February 2014, but wasn’t released until May. Comparing what was expected of this smartphone upon its announcement, with the features and specs it showcased when it was released, resulted in a happy crowd and satisfied customers.

Design and Display

This stylish looking phone is quite the eye candy. It has a 4.7 multi touch capable display and a 540 x 960 resolution. It comes in a variety of colors such as green, black, red, white and gray, and the Android operating system it’s running is topped with the Sense 5 user interface by HTC.

Camera, Specs and Battery

Both the HTC Desire 610 and the Galaxy Core Lite feature 4G connectivity support, and 8 GB of internal storage. The HTC leaves the Galaxy Core Lite behind however, when it comes to the camera. The Desire 610 has a 1.3 MP, 720p recording, secondary camera, unlike the Core Lite, and also the latest Android KitKat. Its battery is a little bigger as well, 2040 mAh.

Conclusion

Even though a little bit more expensive than the Core Lite, the HTC Desire 610 is without question the better smartphone here, with better battery and a secondary camera, and almost as many features as the Core Lite. If you want the better device out of the two, you should go with the HTC.

You can grab these gadgets on Amazon.com. The HTC Desire 610 is about $200, while you can probably find the Core Lite for cheaper, since it was released before the HTC.
