The Nokia Lumia 900 entered the mobile market sporting a stylish and a little over-sized look of the Nokia Lumia 800.

Critics have been all praises for the Nokia Lumia 900, mainly for its hardware. The company has outdone itself with the release of Nokia Lumia 900 wide slab. The device is by far the best-looking phone by the company. The smartphone is available for a $239.99. The device rubs its shoulders with the high-end smartphones in the mobile industry. The beautiful, vivid and detailed photos and videos of the Nokia Lumia 1020 are incomparable. The smartphone boasts of a massive 41MP camera, Optical Image stabilization, groundbreaking zoom and the Pure View technology. This device is Symbian powered and available at $449.99. It has the company’s as well as the industry’s first 41MP camera on a smartphone.

Dimensions, Design and Display

The Nokia 900 measures 127.8 mm in height, 68.5 mm in width and 11.5 mm in thickness. In comparison, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is bigger but thinner than its predecessor. The Nokia Lumia 1020 measures 130.4mm in height, 71.4mm in width and 10.4mm in thickness.

The Nokia Lumia 900 has an elegant, unibody frame. The device is made with polycarbonate plastic. It is strong in built and feels fantastic when held in hands. However, the unibody design of the smartphone comes at the cost of its weight. The smartphone weighs approximately 160 grams and is available in three color options viz., black, white and striking blue. The Nokia Lumia 1020 also comes in a unibody chassis made from polycarbonate. However, the weight of this smartphone is 158 grams, which is not much different than its predecessor. The Lumia 1020 is available in yellow color apart from black and white color options.

The Nokia Lumia 900 encompasses a 4.3 inches multi touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass protecting its AMOLED display. The device comes with a screen resolution of 800×480 pixels. The touchscreen of the smartphone is slightly raised from the body, giving the impression of the screen popping out. In comparison, the Lumia 1020 incorporates a 4.5 inches AMOLED multi touchscreen having Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with fingerprint and dirt resistant features. The device comes in a matte finish with a smooth, rounded back and a flat bottom and top. However, holding the device can be a problem for some people. The rear camera takes up excessive space and the device being wider than its predecessor can make it uncomfortable to hold in the hand.

Processor and Operating System

The Lumia 900 comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.4GHz Scorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU. The smartphone has an internal memory of 16GB with 512 MB of RAM. The device runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

In comparison, the Lumia 1020 is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 225 GPU. The Lumia 1020 comes with a storage capacity of 32GB with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 8, which is upgradable to WP8 Black.

The Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 1020 promise its users to look away from the Android and Apple domination. It can be confidently said that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the finest Windows smartphone to date.
