Nokia Lumia 1320 vs. Gionee Elife E7 Mini – Pricing and Specifications Compared

The Nokia Lumia 1320 is one of the latest phablets to hit the market. In some ways, it can be seen as the successor for the highly successful Lumia 1520, but there are some crucial aspects that make the Lumia 1320 different from the top end phablet.

The Gionee Elife E7 Mini is a phone that manages to build on the success of its larger cousin. It has a similar philosophy, like that of the Mini and Compact models from Samsung and Sony respectively.

Display

The Lumia 1320 comes with an extremely large 6 inch display that provides a great multimedia experience, albeit at a much lower resolution than some of the high-end products from Nokia. The device offers only 720p display, but it comes with the brilliance of the IPS panel. As a result, it is extremely vibrant and provides great contrast in all areas. The huge screen coupled with only 720p resolution means that the pixel density of the Lumia 1320 is not great. It loses out to the Gionee Elife E7 Mini in this regard primarily because the Elife E7 Mini offers a smaller 4.7 inch display. The Elife E7 Mini comes with the same 720p resolution as the Nokia device.

Memory

The Elife E7 Mini does not offer microSD card support, but it does come with 16 GB of internal memory as standard. There are no variants to choose. The Lumia 1320 may appear to lose out in this regard because of its paltry 8 GB of internal memory, but because of microSD card support, the memory is expandable to a maximum of 72 GB in total.

Connectivity

Connectivity options are fairly limited in both devices. Both phones appear to be concentrating only on the primary connectivity aspects like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB support. Aspects like Wi-Fi hotspot are present in the Lumia 1320, but it does not come with NFC support. On the other hand, the Elife E7 Mini may not come with Wi-Fi hotspot, but it offers NFC.

Camera

Despite Nokia phones of recent times being known for their cameras, the Lumia 1320 offers only basic five megapixel camera with standard features like autofocus, LED flash and full HD video recording. The phone also features a disappointing front facing VGA camera. In contrast, the Elife E7 Mini provides a 13 megapixel camera that has several features including rotating lens and panorama picture taking ability. The lack of the front facing camera is a major disappointment. The phone can match the full HD video recording capabilities of the Lumia 1320.

Battery

The Lumia 1320 comes with an enormous 3400 mAh battery, perhaps one of the largest in the segment, in order to ensure that battery life remains excellent despite the large display. Due to its considerably smaller display – in comparison with the Lumia 1320, the Elife E7 Mini is capable of doing away with a 2200 mAh battery and still provides excellent battery life.

The Elife E7 Mini is available for the equivalent of $290, while the Lumia 1320 costs $280.
