Nokia Lumia 1020 vs. Nokia Lumia 1520 – Comparison of Features and Specs

If you are a Windows Phone fanatic, you are bound to be mesmerized, by the two state-of-the-art Windows phones launched by the Company: Nokia Lumia 1020 and Nokia Lumia 1520.

Nokia Lumia 1020 is revered as the best selling camera Windows Phone to be released by the company. The device comes with an insanely huge 41MP PureView camera. We do not feel that the device would be tested in the camera department any time soon. However, the release of Nokia Lumia 1520 recently, is yet another implausible offering by the Finnish company. The Lumia 1520 is believed to be the best offering made by Nokia until date.

The Lumia 1520 comes with a decent 20MP PureView camera. The device is branded with the latest hardware set and is the beefiest Windows Phone with updated specifications presently available in the market. The battle of the Lumia’s would help us determine how these two state of the art Windows phones stack up against each other for their features and specs.

Design

Both the Lumia 1020 and the Lumia 1520 Windows Phone have distinct design elements that have been the feature with the Lumia series. However, the basic difference between these two smartphones in terms of design, are the tapering design relied on by the Lumia 1520. It helps the smartphone appear thinner than what it says on paper. On the other hand, the Lumia 1020 comes in a flat exterior top and bottom edges. The Lumia 1520 comes in a more rounded form. The Lumia 1520 has a more appealing design than compared to that of Lumia 1020. Both come in a variety of color options and robust construction.

The 1520 with its large construction becomes difficult to hold in one hand. On the other hand, The Lumia 1020 has a comfortable grip, but the huge hump on the back of the phone makes the top heavier and uncomfortable to hold and type with one hand.

Display

The 6 inches display with a resolution of 1080p, the Lumia 1520 overshadows the small 4.5 inches display with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels of Lumia 1020. The Lumia 1520 comes with a pixel density of 368-ppi in comparison to the 334-ppi of the Lumia 1020.

Processor and Memory

Regardless the hardware, the Windows Phone is bound to perform flawlessly. The Lumia 1520 comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core 2.2GHz processor paired with Adreno 330 graphic processor and 2GB of RAM. The Lumia 1020 on the other hand has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus dual core 1.5GHz processor and Adreno 225 graphic processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Both perform exceptionally well.

The Lumia 1520 comes with an internal storage capacity of 16GB in comparison to the 32GB storage capacity of the Lumia 1020. However, the Lumia 1520 comes with external expandable memory card slot.

Battery

The Lumia 1520 has a 3400 mAh battery in comparison to the 2000 mAh battery unit of the Lumia 1020.

The Lumia 1020 has all the features one would ask for in the Windows Phone. However, it just does not have what it takes to beat the Lumia 1520 Windows Phone.
