Nexus 7 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – Comparison of Features and More

Google, also known as the search engine giant, introduced its second-generation smartphone, the Nexus 7 tablet.

The Korean giant Samsung Electronics had other plans on its mind, when the company released the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Samsung Electronics was eyeing the mini tablet market and that is the reason the company released the Note 3 device.

Samsung Electronics had made a special place for itself in the mobile industry. The company has been successful with the launch of the Galaxy Note 2 device. In order to cement its place in the smaller sized tablets market, Samsung released the Galaxy Note 3 device. In comparison, with an overwhelming response of the people, Google is planning to launch the second generation Google Nexus 11 device into the market.

Keeping in mind the growing demand on Samsung Electronics, to keep its products elegant, the Korean giant had changed the design of its Galaxy Note 3 device.

Samsung went for an aluminium-manufactured design of the Note 3 device instead of plastic, as used in its other products. The aluminium provided the Note 3, with a classy touch. The Note 3 runs on the company’s Exynos 5 Octa processor with LTE in comparison to the Nexus 7’s Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running at a speed of 1.5GHz.

The Note 3 device is equipped with the Jelly Bean version 4.1 of the Android operating system. However, the Nexus 7 comes equipped with the Android version 4.3 operating system. The Note 3 comes with an upgraded RAM of 3GB and an internal memory of 64GB. The Nexus 7 comes in two models with an internal storage capacity of 16GB and 32GB. However, the Note 3 device comes equipped with an external memory card slot for memory expansion of up to 64GB, which is lacking in the Nexus 7 tablet. Both the devices have similar battery life, enough to last a day, when fully charged.

The Note 3 has a 5.7 inch screen in comparison to the large 7 inch screen of the Nexus 7 tablet. However, the Note 3 tablet comes with a superior pixel density as compared to the Nexus 7 tablet. The massive screen of the Nexus 7 and low resolution, in comparison to screen size, hampers the pixel density of the device. The Nexus 7, despite having a large body is less in thickness than the Note 3 device.

Both the companies are in direct competition with each other. However, both the devices with above-mentioned features have the capacity to give a tough competition to the products of other companies.
