Motorola Moto X vs HTC One Mini – Comparison of Best Phones with Prices and Specs

We have for you today a comparison between two great mid-ranged smartphones, both being worthy options when looking for a new handset. The HTC One Mini is the smaller and cheaper version of the HTC One, so if you liked the specs seen on the HTC One, you will be able to get almost the same specs at a cheaper price. The Motorola Moto X is extremely underrated device, because while it is not as popular, it is a fierce competition to the HTC One Mini. Keep reading to find out which one is the best and which one would suit your criteria better.

Hardware

HTC did a lot of changes in the hardware department, cutting a lot on performance for a more budget friendly device. The handset is powered by a dual core processor working at 1.4 GHz paired with a Snapdragon 400 chipset from Qualcomm. The HTC One Mini supports 1GB of RAM, which could have been better and it has only 16GB of internal storage capacity. The smartphone is not that great in the battery category either: housing a 1800 mAh battery unit, you will need to be careful with this device’s battery life. While the battery capacity is not that high, the One Mini also eats a lot of power which might be inconvenient for some people.

We see that Motorola gives the Moto X a dual core processor as well but this one works at 1.7 GHz and it also shows off a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset from Qualcomm. The device supports 2GB of RAM, which ensures for a better performance than the One Mini, and it can be purchased with two options of internal memory: 16GB and 32GB. In the battery department we can see that the Moto X does better, having a better battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh and also not draining a lot of power itself.

Display and Design

In the display and design category, both phones do better than in the hardware department.

The HTC One Mini comes with a 4.3 inches display that can render a screen resolution of 720p and it comes with a very nice pixel density of 341 pixels-per-inch. The handset looks extremely nice, keeping the same outlook we saw on the HTC One. Being smaller, it is also light weight, weighing 122 g. We like the imaging on this device and the design is very slick and elegant.

The Motorola Moto X has a larger display of 4.7 inches that is an AMOLED model. The screen can render a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a slightly inferior pixel ratio of 312 pixels-per-inch. While the visualizing on this handset is not bad at all, we have to say that the HTC One Mini is better equipped regarding the display. But what the Moto X is great for is that is one of the most customizable smartphones worldwide, seeing how you can choose over 2000 color combinations when entering Motorola’s website. The handset also has a slick, elegant look, so the customizability is a big plus to overcome HTC One’s design features.

Camera, OS and Price

HTC’s One Mini has a 4.3 MP rear camera. Don’t hurry to dismiss it on the regard that it has a camera that’s too weak, because the camera does actually shoot some reasonably nice photos, even in dim light. This is because of the Ultrapixel technology it is tooled with. The smartphone runs on the Android platform, with the v4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The device is priced at $343.99, which makes it quite convenient for what it has to offer.

The Motorola Moto X has a better 10 MP primary camera which has features like LED flash. The operating system for this device is also Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with no indication that a KitKat upgrade will happen anytime soon.

The handset that is equipped with 16GB is priced at $313.00.
