LG G3 vs Sony Xperia Z2 – Specs And Features Comparison

LG has started to gain some steam in the Android phone market. With the release of the new LG G3 phone, it is evident that LG is trying hard to keep up with the pacesetters in the industry.

The Sony Xperia Z2 is a smartphone that seems to be directly competing with the G3 LG phone. These two phones may have a few similarities, but they are very different from each other on closer inspection. Let us do some comparisons and find out just how similar or just how different the LG G3 phone is to the Sony Xperia Z2.

LG G3 Vs Sony Xperia Z3 – Is One Phone Better Than The Other?

Design

We can all agree that these two phones are pretty large, almost the same size. However, the Sony Xperia is made of glass, making it have a platinum feel while the LG G3 has a plastic body or as the manufacturers like to put it, has a polycarbonate shell that has a brushed metal-like finish. From a distance, the finish might fool many people to think that it is metal.

Size

The G3 is slightly bigger than the Z2, both in terms of width and thickness. Even though the Z3 is slightly smaller than the G3, it is not that easy to handle. The Sony Xperia Z2 has sharp edges that are not so comfortable to hold. The LG G3, on the other hand, has a curved back. This makes the phone have a better feel on the hand.

Weight

In terms of weight, the Sony Xperia Z2 is slightly heavier than the LG G3, as the Z2 weighs 163g while the G3 weighs 149g. There is a slight difference in the display, as the G3 has a 5.5 inch Quad HD display, while the Z2 has a 5.2 inch display. However, it is hard to tell the difference in the display in real life.

Under The Hood

When it comes to memory, the Z2 has a 3GB RAM, while the G3 comes in two different versions, one has 32GB storage with 3 GB RAM and the other with 16GB storage and 2GB RAM. The two phones both support expandable storage as they have microSD card slots that allow cards of up to 128GB. Both the Sony Xperia Z2 and the LG G3 have great cameras. The LG G3 has a 13 megapixel camera, and a two-tone dual LED flash. The Sony Xperia Z2 has a 20 megapixel camera. The G3 has what we call an Optical Image Stabilization System that allows it to use a longer shutter speed without the pictures getting blurred due to shaky hands. The camera interface on the G3 is very simple and plain. It almost has no manual settings. The G3 camera can be said to be an all automatic camera with only a handful of options. The Sony Xperia Z2 camera, on the other hand, is simple in a more or less similar way. The phone, however, has a manual mode where you can manually take control of fine settings.
