iPhone 5S vs Nokia Lumia 930 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

Microsoft announced that Nokia Lumia 930 will hit the stores in July, first in Australia, and it will be available through Telstra, Vodafone and Optus, but you’ll be able to buy it, also, from Harvey Norman, AllPhones, Dick Smith and JB Hi-Fi. The smartphone will come with amazing specs and features, making the iPhone 5S look like a baby. But what’s special about Apple’s device? Among others, it comes with a finger print scanner, but let’s face it, the phone is too expensive!

Displays, designs and sizes

The Lumia 930 is equipped with a 5inches ClearBlack OLED display which renders a resolution of 1920x1080pixels and supports 441ppi. It has high brightness mode, sunlight readability enhancements, orientation sensor, refresh rate 60 hz, wide viewing angle, Lumia color profile, sculpted glass which is easy to clean, and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The iPhone 5S’s screen is a lot smaller – 4inches and it supports a resolution of 1136x640pixels and 326ppi. It features a fingerprint-resistant oleopphobic coating for the front and more languages and types of characters available for the display.

So, Lumia 930 is bigger and the iPhone 5S is lighter and thinner. The Nokia handset measures 137x71x9.8mm and has a thickness of 167grams. Its back covers are bright and glossy and can be replaced, having many color options to choose from. The dimensions of the iPhone 5S are 123.8×58.6×7.6mm and it weights 112grams.

Hardware and OS

The Lumia 930 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, which is clocked at 2.2GHz, while the iPhone 5S comes with the Apple A6 chipset with 1.3GHz dual-core Swift ARM v7-based.

The Nokia 930 has 32GB of internal memory – expandable up to 128GB. The iPhone 5S has three variants of internal storage – 16, 32 and 64GB – unexpandable.

The Nokia Lumia 930 is running on the Windows 8.1 OS with 2GB of RAM, while the iPhone 5S is running on the iOS 6 – upgradable to the iOS 7.1.1, which will be upgraded to the iOS very soon.

Cameras

The Lumia 930 humiliates its opponent in terms of camera resolution. It has a rear Pure View camera of 20MP (LED flash and four directional microphones with Surround-Sound), while the iPhone 5S has only an 8MP rear camera (LED flash, face detection, panorama, tap to focus, autofocus and photo geotagging.

Batteries

The Lumia 930’s battery has the capacity of 2420mAh, which allows you to talk 21.7hours. Also, it lasts 75hours if you listen to music. Plus, it can be charged via wireless. The iPhone 5S’s battery allows you to talk 8hours, and when listening to music, it lasts 40hours.

Price

The iPhone 5S 16GB variant costs around 500 dollars on amazon.com. The Lumia 930 will be purchased at the price of 729 dollars, being the most expensive Nokia phone.
