When comparing the Apple and Samsung products, one would come across two diverse tactics used by these companies.
Apple prefers to stick to its products’ content and uniqueness, in order to gain public interest. On the contrary, the Samsung Electronics is producing products based on the interests of the masses. The latter has procured huge success with its approach.
The release of the iPad Mini 2, a successor to the iPad Mini tablet that produced great rewards, has also been designed on similar lines as that of the iPad Mini tablet. However, Samsung Electronics has not been that successful with its tablets release. Now, with Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 in the market, the company is getting optimistic.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the tablet is very similar to that of its predecessor, the iPad Mini. The device comes equipped with Retina Display that makes the device more comprehensible. The device is smaller in terms of height and width than the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. The iPad Mini 2 stands 200mm tall and 134.7 mm wide and weighs 331 grams. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 stands 243.1mm tall and 176.1mm wide and weighs 510 grams.
The iPad Mini 2 comes with a 7.9 inches Retina Display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The device comes with a pixel density of 326-ppi. In comparison, the Tab 3 10.1 comes with 10.1 inches TFT display with a resolution of 12800 x 800 pixels. The screen has a pixel density of 149-ppi.
OS, RAM and CPU
The Cyclone 1.3GHz dual core processor powers the iPad Mini 2 tablet. The device comes with iOS 7 that can be upgradable to iOS 7.1.1 operating system. The tablet also supports an A7 chipset.
In comparison, the Tab 3 10.1 comes with dual core 1.6GHz CPU along with an Intel Atom Z2560 chip. This Android based device has a version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
The iPad Mini 2 has 1GB DDR3 of RAM in comparison to the 1GB RAM of the Tab 3 10.1.
Camera
The latest high-end devices come equipped with dual cameras. The iPad Mini 2 has a 5MP and 1.2MP rear and front camera, respectively, in comparison to the 3.15MP and 1.3MP rear and front camera of the Tab 3 10.1.
Price
iPad Mini 2 is priced at $399 in comparison to the $380 price of the galaxy Tab 3 10.1.
