iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 and iPad Pro Release Dates and Features

Apple plans to release the iPhone 6 in September in two size variants: a 4.7inches one and a 5.5inches one. A lot of rumors are speculated around this upcoming phone, but today we’re going to talk about the new iPads that Apple is planning to bring in 2014.

According to some new reports a new 12.9inches tablet called iPad Pro will probably be released along with the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3.

According to Economic Daily News, a Taiwan news portal, the iPad Air 2 will come with a 9.7inches display, the iPad Mini 3 feature a 7.9inches display and the iPad Pro will have a much bigger display, of 12.9inches.

Will the iPad Pro be Apple’s alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Pro?

The iPad Pro is an upcoming tablet/laptop combination and it’s expected to come with touchscreen capability, which was not a part of Apple Macs. Along with the touchscreen, it is likely that the devices released by Apple this year will come with Touch ID.

iPad Pro Display Rumors

In concordance with China’s Pad News, the iPad Pro will come in two variants of resolution: a 2K variant and a 4K variant. It seems that the 2K variant will surpass the resolution of iPad Air and Kindle Fire HDX. The iPad Air resolution is 2560x1536pixels with 264ppi and Kindle Fire HDX has a resolution of 2560x1600pixels with 339ppi.

In concordance with Tech Radar, The iPad Pro 4K variant is expected to come with a screen resolution of 4096x3072pixels, but you should keep in mind that these are just rumors and you shouldn’t get too excited.

When is iPad Pro going to be released?

If the rumors turn out to be true, the iPad Pro will be released somewhere at the end of Q3 of 2014, followed by iPhone in Q4 of 2014.
