Looking at the top of the list on amazing smartphones, along with devices from Samsung and Apple, we find also HTC’s One and Nokia’s Lumia 1020. The two devices are feature-packed and on-budget priced, but let’s find out which exactly is the better option for you.

Design and Chassis

The HTC One comes at a weight of 143 grams and 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm dimensions. This device has an aluminum exterior case that comes in different color schemes: black, red, silver or blue. This device has a slick look with rounded edges and it is overall a good looking smartphone.

The Lumia 1020 is heavier than the HTC, weighing 158 grams and it comes with the following dimensions: 130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4 mm. This handset has a polycarbonate exterior case that also comes in different colors of choice: bright yellow, white and black. The device is not that rounded around the edges, but it has a beautifully large camera on the back – since the camera has a whooping capacity of 41MP.

Screen and Display

If you’re looking for a device with great imaging, meaning sharp colors and contrast level, HTC will be the smartphone for you since it has a 4.7 inches long full HD type of touch screen that has a pixel density of 468ppi.

The Lumia 1020 comes with a slightly smaller 4.5 inches display that has a pixel density of 334ppi.

Performance

The HTC One is also spectacular in the hardware department, sporting a quad core processor that is clockedat 1.7GHz. The device also shows off 2GB of RAM, for a smooth experience regarding multi-tasking. The Lumia 1020 has a dual core processor working at 1.5GHz.

Camera

You were already expecting this, but yes, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the best smartphone in the camera category. The device doesn’t only have a breath-taking 41MP camera, but also two camera apps to work with. The first is the standard Windows Phone 8 app, while the second, Nokia Pro Cam, focuses more on professional shoting: control over white balance, shutter speed, focus and ISO.

The HTC is not bad in this category, while it doesn’t stand a chance in this comparison with the 1020, it does have a 4MP camera that will deliver good color reproduction and decent shootings.

Price

HTC One (with 32GB of internal storage space): $395.00

Nokia Lumia 1020: $418.95
