Here we have two very expensive smartphones that don’t fail to impress with their specifications. The Amazon Fire Phone has an amazing camera, although the screen resolution is lower than on HTC One M8’s display. So, the competition is tight and it’s hard to decide which one of these phones should be in your pocket.
Compared to Amazon Fire Phone, the HTC One M8 has a bigger display, measuring 5inches, and it’s a Super LCD3 display which supports a resolution of 1,920×1,080pixels and a pixel density of 441ppi. The Amazon Fire Phone comes with a 4.7inched HD LCD display, with a lower screen resolution – a 1,280x720pixels, and a lower pixel density – 315ppi.
Hardware and OS
Both smartphones are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, only that the HTC One comes with a Snapdragon 801 (clocked at 2.3 GHz), while the Amazon Fire Phone has a slightly inferior Snapdragon 800 quad core processor (clocked at 2.2 GHz).
The HTC M8 has 16 and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB + Google Drive offers 50GB cloud storage, while for Amazon Fire Phone, Google Drive offered only 5GB of space.
As for the operating systems, these devices run on totally different OS: the Amazon Fire Phone – on Fire OS 3.5.0 with 2GB of RAM, and HTC One M8 – on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. This phone has 2GB of RAM.
The Amazon Fire Phone has a 13MP camera (f/2.0 lens with panorama, optical image stabilization, burst & action shots and unlimited photo storage).
The HTC One M8 has a 4Ultrapixel rear-facing camera (autofocus & dual-LED (dual tone) flash) + a 5MP front-facing camera.
The Amazon Fire Phone is available with a 12-month membership of Prime, so you will have 33 million titles of movies, music and TV shows. Also, you’ll enjoy the 3D. With this phone’s camera you can scan phone numbers, books, DVDs, QR codes etc, and with the resulted image, you can look for these products on Amazon.
The HTC One M8 supports 2G/3G/4G LTE networks, Bluetooth and GPS. It comes with free apps such as Google Maps, Search, YouTube, Gmail and Google Talk.
The HTC One M8 costs 690 dollars on amazon.com. The Amazon Fire Phone is available though AT&T at the price of 649 dollars, with a no contract plan.
