Blackberry Q10 vs Gionee Elife E6 – Pricing and Specifications Compared

The recent changes to Blackberry’s operating system have made the Blackberry phone more than just being about business.

This is especially true in the case of the Blackberry Q10 – a phone that came out in April 2013. The Gionee Elife E6 is a phone that aims to bring new life into the smartphone segment with fresh ideas.

Design

Unlike most of the high-end phones in the market, the Gionee Elife E6 stands alone by virtue of having extremely slim bezels. The phone is also extremely thin at just 7.9 mm. In sharp contrast, the Blackberry Q10 is one of the bulkier phones around at a thickness of 10.4 mm. The bulk primarily comes because of having a full physical QWERTY keyboard whereas the Gionee Elife E6 comes with only a touchscreen that is supported by touch sensitive controls.

Display

Rather than adopt a slide out feature as it has done in some models, BlackBerry does not resort to such fancy gimmicks on the Blackberry Q10. As a result, it has to come with only a 3.1-inch display unlike most of its competitors featuring a touch screen. Gionee Elife E6 gains a huge advantage in terms of the display because of its 5-inch screen. Because of the lower screen size, the Blackberry Q10 can feature only 720p resolution and still provides enough pixel density. The Gionee Elife E6 has to offer a full HD resolution, but its pixel density is substantially better than that of the BlackBerry device.

Gionee Elife E6 also relies upon the IPS panel for its display whereas the BlackBerry Q10 uses a Super AMOLED technology.

Connectivity

Both phones are almost similar in terms of the basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB. In addition to those features, the BlackBerry Q10 comes with NFC support and a Wi-Fi connection that supports more bands. However, it does not offer the Wi-Fi direct feature present in the Gionee Elife E6.

Camera

The Gionee Elife E6 is a great phone to take ‘selfies’ because of its five megapixel front facing camera, which not only shadows most of its competitors but that of the front facing camera present in the BlackBerry Q10 as well. The Elife E6 also has an advantage in the rear camera, which is a 13-megapixel camera. The BlackBerry uses an eight-megapixel camera that offers a similar range of features apart from the panorama aspect. Full HD video recording is present in both cameras.

Processor

Elife E6 is an Android phone and offers excellent processor specifications in order to run the OS in the best possible manner. It comes with a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 processor that is aided by a PowerVR Series 5XT GPU. The Blackberry uses a snapdragon dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor with Adreno 225 GPU for the LTE version and the PowerVR SGX544 GPU for the non-LTE version.

The Gionee Elife E6 is available in the market for around $450, while the BlackBerry Q10 is available for a price of just $260.
