Apple iPhone 5S vs iPhone 5C and iPhone 5 – Top Prices and Specs Comparison

Last year, in September, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C were launched with much fanfare, being appreciated by most of Apple’s fans. The “minor” problem with these devices is that they were extremely expensive and their prices are still too high and unreachable for a segment of consumers. Let’s see how different are these models compared to the previous iPhone 5.

Designs

The iPhone 5C doesn’t have a premium look like the iPhone 5S, because its body is made of polycarbonate and you have five options of colors that you can choose from. The iPhone 5S has an aluminum body.

Displays

All three models have displays of 4inches, which support the same resolution of 640x1136pixels and 326ppi.

Hardware

The older iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5C came with a 1.3GHz dual-core A6 processor, but Apple made some updates to the last model and equipped it with a 1.3GHz dual-core A7 (64-bit ARMv8) processor.

All three models have three variants of internal memories that can’t be expanded – the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S have 16/32/64 GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM DDR2, respectively DDR3. The iPhone 5C hosts 8/16/32 GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM.

Cameras

The camera on the iPhone 5S is still 8MP, but it features an f/2.2 aperture (compared to the f/2.4 from the iPhone 5), it has a sensor with 15 percent more surface area and a “True Tone” dual-LED flash, which means that each LED has different color temperatures.

Meanwhile, other tech giants pushed the limits and released some smartphones with extraordinary cameras. For example, the Xperia Z1 has a 20.7MP camera, and the Nokia Lumia 1020 has a 41Mp camera – the best so far. What chances does Apple has to break this record?

Batteries

All three iPhones have non-removable batteries: the iPhone 5 has a 1440mAh battery, the iPhone 5C’s has been slightly improved – 1507mAh, while the iPhone 5S comes with a 1570mAh battery.

Other specs

The iPhone 5S comes with a fingerprint scanner which is protected by sapphire glass, it runs on the iOS 7 and it’s available in Gold and Silver shades. The iPhone 5C is more like a replacement for the iPhone 5.

Prices

The iPhone 5 16GB variant costs 530 dollars, the iPhone 5C is now priced at 500 dollars and the iPhone 5S is much more expensive, being found on amazon.com at the price of 650 dollars.
