Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Release Date and Special Editions Revealed

For some of you who have been using an old gaming rig, it’s time to upgrade your PC.

Those of you who are still playing on a PS3 or Xbox 360, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt has enough reasons to convince you to upgrade to an Xbox One or PS4. The game has been displaying promising graphics quality ever since its announcement and in order to polish it more, the developers decided to postpone the release date to 2015. The game is one of the most anticipated next gen titles and it has already joined the list of AAA games that are scheduled for next year. After much speculation and some leaked rumors, the developers of the title, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the game is all set to land on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on February 24, 2015.

Collector’s Edition Coming Up

The official announcement by CD Projekt Red was made during their annual summer conference. The Polish developer is quite excited about their title, which has generated enough interest among European and North American audience. They are in the lines of Crytek, a studio that is based entirely out of North America yet has managed to achieve phenomenal success with their games. Apart from the confirming the release date in February, the company also confirmed that Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will get multiple special editions. They talked in depth about the pre-order bonuses and the collector’s edition that has been planned. People who pre-order the game, be it online or with retailers in their locality, will be eligible to receive a variety of content. The freebies include a map of the fictional world, a Witcher compendium, sound track from the game, manual and stickers.

A Worthy Collector’s Edition

Compared to the pre-order bonus, the collector’s edition of Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is definitely a league apart. It will most probably come with a big price tag too because of the content included in the package. The collector’s edition of the game includes everything that has been mentioned above. It will also have a Geralt figurine fighting a Griffin, a steel book case to store the game, a steel wolf medallion and a complete 200 page art book from the game. If you haven’t heard by now, the developers CD Projekt Red owns the GOG store and buyers will get even more content if they place an order through their store.

The original pricing for the standard edition of Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be reduced to $54 for a limited period and the version of the game received will be completely DRM free. Those who love the series will be delighted to know that a GOG pre-order will also get them early access to the Witcher adventure game, a copy of Neverwinter Nights game, an additional digital comic book, extended sound tracks as well as an art book in digital format. The developer confirmed that the GOG pre-order bonuses will be amazing, and are confident that their content is sure to impress their audience.
