Ways to Speed Up Your Google Chrome

Many users are having trouble with their slow browsers wherein it takes several minutes to load a page.

Sometimes, others are having errors while browsing or their browsers are not responding properly. When you have a very slow browser, chances are you’ll have slow streaming videos and have a lot of lagging problems. There are many ways to improve your Google chrome browsing capability.

Remove Extensions or Add-ons

Removing your add-ons will increase the browsing speed of your Google chrome. Try not to install many extensions on your browser but some extensions are helpful though. Uninstall unnecessary add-ons if you have accidentally or installed something not really useful. You can check it by opening your Google chrome then clicking on Options (located at the upper right side of your browser, just below the Close button – “Customize and control Google Chrome”). Go to “Settings” then click “Extensions” on the left side. On the Extensions, you will see the lists of add-ons that you installed on your browser. Remove all unnecessary add-ons by pressing the trash bin icon. It would take several minutes to uninstall some add-ons.

Install Pop-up Blocker

Pop-ups while browsing are sometimes irritating. Some of it contains malwares and viruses that will affect your browser including your computer. Be careful of these computer attacks, don’t just click and click on anything. Just close it and continue browsing. You can get rid of it by installing a Pop-up Blocker on your Google chrome. This blocker is good for your browser as an add-on. Don’t remove it.

Avoid Using Many Tabs

When browsing, avoid using many tabs. It increases the memory that is being used by the Google chrome. Remember that your browser is already a part of your computer, it uses the memory that you have installed on your computer. Use at least 2-5 tabs but if you have high memory card like 4 GB, you can have as many as 10 tabs. A high spec computer will increase your browsing speed.

Install Antivirus and Scan

Anti-virus is required and very important for your computer. Malware and virus attacks are crucial and must be prevented or removed as soon as possible. When a virus is already on your computer, it will spread all over your system and affect all of its functions including browsing. Install Antivirus and have a full scan. This would take at least an hour if you have many files. Seek and destroy all of it.

Close Other Applications

If you are browsing or streaming videos, try to close other opened applications like games, folders, etc. This will help your browser to function on its highest performance. Closing other applications will minimize the usage of your computer memory.

Clean Google Chrome

Make it a habit to clean your browser after using. Cleaning your browser enhances your browser. Click Options > History > Clear browsing data or just press Alt+Shift+Del. From there, you can see a list of items that will be cleaned up. If you have saved passwords, just uncheck the “Clear Saved Passwords”.  Check only the things that you want to be cleaned then click “Clear browsing data” and it’s done.
