The first tablet launched by Microsoft in the year 2012 showed great promise.
However, there were some serious problems with Windows RT including the severe app problem. Beyond the problem areas, the tablet was priced exorbitantly high. The keyboard attachment was yet another wrinkle that required ironing. Despite the cited problems, the tablet is popular in terms of its hardware design. The sleek slate had little life in the market due to high-end price tag and a disappointing battery life. Microsoft was not the company to back down due to a minor obstacle. The company launched Surface Pro 2 and Surface Pro 3 in the market.
The Surface Pro 2 is a more noteworthy upgrade for one major reason. The exterior may be the same as that of its predecessors, considering the design is fantastic. The specifications may also be similar, to a major extent. The big news is the state of the art Intel fourth gen Core i5 ‘Haswell’ CPU. The tablet computer also has some improvements done to its battery life to make it last 75% longer than its predecessor.
The Surface Pro 3, manufactured and marketed by Microsoft is aimed to position as a no-compromise PC that can be doubled up as a tablet. The company promises up to 9hrs of battery life, making it approximately 10% better than the battery life of its predecessor. Let us compare the two for their features, specifications and price.
