Conventionally, Samsung always comes up with a mini version of a flagship phone. Regarding the release date of the S5 Mini, there is no official news or even a launch date from Samsung. However, it is expected to arrive in the second quarter of the year, so it should come anytime this month. The handset will come with a screen display size of 4.5 inches using the Super AMOLED technology and a resolution of 1280 x 720p. It will surely be bigger than the qHD resolution of the S4 Mini. Another rumor claims that a 1.4 GHz, a quad-core chip with a RAM of 1.3 GB, will power it.
Camera Specs Expected
There may not be much of an upgrade with respect to the camera of the S5 Mini, when compared to the S4 Mini. According to sources, the smartphone will come with a rear camera of 8 MP resolution and a front camera of 2 MP resolution. This is almost similar to the specs of the S4 Mini, which has an 8MP camera at the rear and a 1.9 MP camera on the front. However, even if the upgrade is not much, the camera of the S5 Mini is expected to sport some of the fancy features present in the Galaxy S5, there could be some special photo skills in the device.

It is considered that the S5 Mini will come with storage of 16GB. This is double the storage option in the S4 Mini. Most Samsung tablets come with a micro SD card, so it is expected that this one will also have the same feature.
Operating System
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will run on the Android 4.4 KitKat version. This is the latest version of Android and all high-profile phones run on this OS, so it is the obvious choice. It will also have an overlay of the TouchWiz interface from Samsung, similar to the S5. The battery will most probably have a capacity of 2100 mAh, compared to the 1900 mAh of the S4 Mini. It will also be equipped with the IR blaster.
