The LG G3 was launched at the end of the previous month, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active will come on June 12, and it will be an improved version of the famous S5. The G3 has received a lot of positive feedbacks and like the Galaxy S5 Active, it supports only micro-sim. The chosen shades for the G3 are: black, red, white, gold and blue, while the S5 Active will have these shades: titanium grey, ruby red and camo green.
Displays and sizes
If you want a phone with a huge screen, then the LG G3 will amaze you with its 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen. This is one of the few smartphones that support an incredible resolution of 1,440×2,560 pixels and we assure you that you will notice the improvement. It also supports a pixel density much higher than the Galaxy S5 Active: 534, compared to 432. The S5 Active a Super Amoled screen with the size of 5.1 inches, which will have a resolution of 1,080×1,920 pixels.
Both gadgets have the same thickness of 0,35 inches, but the LG G3 is lighter, weighting 149 grams, while the Galaxy S5 Active is weighting 170 grams.
The G3’s carcass is made of plastic but it looks like it’s a veritable metal. The Galaxy S5 Active, certified as MIL-STD-810G and IP67, will be dust-water-shock resistant.
Hardware and OS
The awesome LG G3 was designed to run very fast with the quad-core Krait 400 CPU, from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, which was clocked at 2.5 GHz. This device has two options of internal storage – 16GB, and the phone has 2GB or RAM, and 32GB, with an extra GB of RAM.
The S5 Active is functioning with the same CPU, but it has only 2GB of RAM (16GB of internal storage), and like the G3, it’s an Android that runs of the 4.4.2 KitKat version, but the G3 uses Optimus UI, while the S5 Active will impress you enough, because is uses the TouchWiz UI.
Both phones’ internal memories are expandable – up to 128GB.
Although it has a primary camera with a lower resolution of 13MP (dual-LED (dual tone) flash), the G3 is worth applauses for its Laser Autofocus Sensor (taking 0.276 sec. to focus), Selfie Mode and other features like voice activation, simultaneous video & image recording, and for the fact that is able to shoot 4K. LG G3 has also another 2.1MP secondary camera for video calls. The Galaxy S5 Active has a more advanced rear camera, of 16MP, with LED Flash, which also can shoot 4K. The secondary camera has a slightly lower resolution of 2MP. The common features of the G3 and the S5 Active are: face detection, HDR, panorama, autofocus, geo tagging.
The G3’s (replaceable) battery is durable, because it has a capacity of 3000mAh and it can be charged via WiFi. The S5 Active’s battery is non-replaceable, and with a lower capacity – 2800mAh.
If you don’t need a warranty, then you can buy the LG G3 16GB variant at the price of 415 dollars. The Galaxy S5 Active is available through AT&T and it costs around 200 dollars (for a two-year contract).
