The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is neither a camera, nor a smartphone. It’s a cameraphone with 10x optical zoom which can take incredible photos. If this device’s weird look doesn’t bother you, then you’ll be amazed how it works. And you don’t have have to pay a lot of money on it! The iPhone 5 is almost 200 dollars more expensive and has a weaker camera. But at least you’ll be proud of your luxurious smarthphone!
Displays and sizes
Like the Galaxy S4 Mini, the S4 Zoom has a 4.3inches Super AMOLED display that renders a resolution of 540x960pixels. The iPhone 5 brags about itself with its 4inches LED-backlit IPS LCD screen that supports a higher resolution – 640x1136pixels.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom is slightly bigger than the S4 Mini, measuring 125.5×63.5×15.4mm, and weights 208grams. The iPhone 5 has nearly half the weight of the S4 Zoom – 112grams (we’re exaggerated a little) and its dimensions are 123.8×58.6×7.6mm. The S4 Zoom is heavier because of the huge camera with zoom on the back.
Hardware and OS
The Galaxy S4 Zoom is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core cortex A9 processor on the Pega-Dual +XMM6262 chipset. It has an internal memory of 8GB, which is expandable up to 64GB.
The iPhone 5 is powered by a 1.3GHz dual core swift processor and has Apple’s A6 chipset. You can choose one of the three variants of unexpandable internal memories: 16, 32 and 64GB.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom is running on the Android Jelly Bean OS with 1.5GB of RAM, while the iPhone 5 has 1GB of RAM and runs on Apple’s iOS 6, which is upgradeable to the iOS 7.
Cameras
The Galaxy S4 Zoom beats the iPhone 5 at this category, because it has a 16MP primary camera with 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash & optical image stabilization. It also has a 1.9MP secondary camera – identical with S4 Mini’s front camera. The primary camera on the iPhone 5 is of 8MP, while the secondary camera is of 1.2MP.
Batteries
The Galaxy S4 Zoom’s battery is Li-Ion and has the capacity of 2330mAh, which allows you to talk 13hours, on 3G, or to listen to music for approximately 46hours. The iPhone 5’s battery is non-removable and it’s a Li-Po with a capacity of only 1440mAh, which allows you to talk 8hours, on 3G. If you want to listen to music, the battery lasts 40hours.
